Double Fine Paid Tribute To Ozzy Osbourne By Giving Away Brutal Legend For 666 Minutes

In tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne, renowned as a rock-and-roll legend, Double Fine Productions has chosen to celebrate his life by offering Brutal Legend free for 666 minutes on PC. Within the game, Osbourne’s likeness and voice can be found in two roles: The Guardian of Metal and Dadbat.

Double Fine recently shared an extraordinary offer on BlueSky, but unfortunately, it had ended before this article was published. To pay tribute to Ozzy Osbourne‘s massive rock ‘n’ roll influence, they decided to give away Brutal Legend for free on Itch.io as mentioned in their post.

On July 22, 2025, Ozzy Osbourne passed away, having performed with Black Sabbath for the last time only a few weeks prior at the “Back to the Beginning” concert in England, as reported by The New York Times. For more than two decades, Ozzy and his wife, Sharon, were instrumental in organizing the annual Ozzfest tour. Following his departure from Black Sabbath, Ozzy enjoyed a flourishing solo career and was honored twice at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Ozzy Osbourne didn’t just appear in Brutal Legend; he also made an appearance in Guitar Hero World Tour, where he performed “Crazy Train” and “Mr. Crowley.” His music has graced other popular games as well, such as Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and the Madden series.
