The Nintendo Switch 2 has experienced remarkable early sales, ranking among the most successful console launches ever, and an interesting detail about these sales stands out. A large proportion of initial buyers have opted for the pricier Pro Controller; in fact, approximately one-third of all early Switch 2 purchases were accompanied by the $85 accessory.
During the initial release of Nintendo Switch 2, approximately one out of three customers who purchased the console additionally bought the premium $85 controller, as reported by Mat Piscatella, an analyst from Circana. Moreover, according to Piscatella, the Switch 2 Pro Controller was the top-selling accessory in June, measured by dollar sales.

It’s reasonable to assume that the type of customer purchasing a console at launch tends to be the same one who invests in additional gadgets, suggesting that the popularity of the Pro Controller may not sustain this level for much longer. Nevertheless, it’s still a significant sales figure for the brand-new console, demonstrating strong market interest.
