At the San Diego Comic-Con event, Lego revealed their upcoming large-scale Batman construction set for adult enthusiasts and collectors. The set is based on Batman Arkham Asylum, a substantial 2,953-piece model of Gotham City’s psychiatric hospital where many of Batman’s longtime adversaries are typically held (only to break free later). This intricately detailed representation of Arkham Asylum includes 16 mini-figures and features a modular design that, according to Lego, can also serve as a 24-day buildable Advent Calendar.
On September 9th, Lego DC Batman Arkham Asylum will be launched, and it’s now possible to pre-order this item for a price of $300, exclusively through the Lego Store.

The latest showcase model of Arkham Asylum has been added to the collection of fantastic Lego sets, which already include the Caped Crusader, assorted villains from Gotham, diverse types of the Batmobile, and various iconic locations within Gotham City.
Apart from Arkham Asylum, another upcoming Batman Lego set is the Batmobile from Batman Forever, launching on August 1 for $100. There are also other Batman-themed sets focused on his iconic vehicles like the Bat-Pod from The Dark Knight Trilogy, which comes with a Batman figure and is currently on sale at Walmart for $48 (originally $65). Meanwhile, the Lego Technic: Batcycle from The Batman (2022) has been retired but can still be found at Walmart, selling for $40 (previously $50).
As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share that among the current Batman Lego offerings, the Arkham Asylum set is undeniably intricate and detailed. However, it’s not the one with the most pieces – that title belongs to the Batman: The Animated Series Gotham City, a stunning 3D wall art piece showcasing the iconic skyline, which retails for the same $300. This masterpiece boasts an impressive 4,210 pieces.
While both sets share the same price tag, the building experience with Arkham Asylum is likely to be more engaging due to its dynamic design. The reason behind the higher piece count of 3D art pieces like Gotham City lies in the multitude of small bricks used to create intricate backdrops. So, whether you’re a fan of dynamic builds or stunning 3D art, there’s something for everyone in this lineup!
Instead of just Lego, enthusiasts of Batman might want to explore the upcoming Amazon-exclusive Steelbook Library Edition of The Dark Knight Trilogy as well. This edition includes four steelbook cases, an assortment of collectibles, and a metal storage case to showcase them all. For additional information, please refer to our preorder guide.
