Taco Bell lets fans create & share custom orders in contest to decide next menu item

Taco Bell recently introduced a ‘Fan Creation’ feature on its mobile app, allowing users to design, label, and distribute their personalized food combinations as unique menu offerings.

On Tuesday, July 22nd, the quick-service restaurant introduced an updated app interaction. It’s good news that you don’t need to make a purchase to take part in this event. However, it’s essential to note that you must be enrolled in Taco Bell’s loyalty program to join in.

With Fan Style, users can rework Taco Bell’s ingredients to create unique, tailored orders, which they can then label with their own names and generate sharable links for others to try. Every time someone buys a fan-created dish, the inventor receives points equivalent to the order’s total cost.

Based on Taco Bell’s statement, some of the favorite fan-made dishes could potentially show up on menus at various U.S. locations temporarily towards the end of 2025.

They’re doing billboard ads, too

On July 29th, between 2 and 5 PM Pacific Time, the chain is running a special promotion where selected fan creations will be displayed on billboards, in cinemas, and various real-world locations. This is another step Taco Bell is taking to embrace fan culture and boost digital interaction.

Taco Bell reveals that over half of their mobile orders incorporate personalized menu items. To make it simpler for customers to find these unique combinations, they’ve introduced the Fan Style section, which showcases these creative tweaks while also rewarding imagination and popularity.

A few days ago, Taco Bell unveiled their long-awaited BBQ sauce, designed for their beloved crispy chicken offerings, and now they’re utilizing it to create a fresh take on their nacho fries – a loaded version.
