According to the well-known VTuber, Nyanners, she claims that VShojo failed to compensate her for a live Twitch broadcast in which her home was targeted by a ‘swatting’ incident.
On Monday, July 21st, I found myself excitedly tuning into my favorite VTuber, Ironmouse’s, YouTube channel. To my surprise, she announced her departure from her agency, VShojo, a move that had the whole community buzzing with anticipation!
In the video, it was disclosed that the agency still owes Mouse a substantial amount of money, but they have yet to fulfill their pledged $500,000 donation to the Immune Deficiency Foundation following her highly successful September 2024 marathon stream on Twitch.
Following her exit, several other Virtual YouTubers disclosed comparable experiences upon announcing their departures from VShojo. Even Nyanners, who parted ways with the agency in 2023, revealed a startling account of her time with the company.
Nyanners says she wasn’t paid for stream where she was swatted
On July 22nd’s live stream, Nyanners discussed with her audience about the drama related to her previous management and mentioned the incident of swatting.
After enduring so much, I’m relieved that I’ll be compensated,” she remarked. “Funny thing, though, among the numerous instances where they didn’t remunerate me, they overlooked paying me for managing that stream for years – the very one where I was attacked.
As a fervent supporter, the betrayal I felt was akin to a punch right in the heart. No words can truly encapsulate the seething rage I harbored… I had placed my faith in them, believing they were capable of honoring their commitments.
For nearly a decade, swatting incidents have posed a problem on live streaming platforms. In these instances, streamers find themselves facing unexpected visits from law enforcement officers during their live broadcasts.
The scenario often includes someone, whose identity is unclear, making a call to the authorities from an undisclosed number and employing a voice-altering device to disguise their voice, claiming a fictitious crime is happening at the residence of the streaming individual.
The event might occur wherever the creator resides. In January 2024, streamer Kick Star N3on experienced a “swatting” incident while live streaming in real life, which led to an evacuation at the zoo where he was present.
