Kevin Feige, head of Marvel Studios, shared insights about the future of Ryan Reynolds‘ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine within the MCU during a media interview. Both actors first appeared as their respective characters in the MCU in 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine film, but they have played these roles on the big screen for much longer than that.

Feige has confirmed during a recent conversation with the press that there have indeed been talks about Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s future roles within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He mentioned they stay in close contact with Ryan, implying that the answer to their continued presence in the MCU is affirmative.

When reporters at the event inquired about Hugh Jackman’s involvement in the franchise moving forward, Feige playfully ducked the question and quoted one of Deadpool’s iconic lines from Deadpool & Wolverine: “He’ll keep doing it until he turns 90!” (as reported by ComicBook)

From my perspective as a diehard Marvel fan, it’s still unclear which Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) production Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds will grace next. Rumors are swirling that Reynolds is working on a script for an X-Men ensemble movie, but it seems this won’t be a traditional MCU X-Men feature film.

Wolverine, but the movie was met with a mixed reception, particularly regarding its depiction of Wade. Dissatisfied, Reynolds worked tirelessly to create a better Deadpool film, which he achieved with 2016’s Deadpool. This successful venture led to the production of Deadpool 2 in 2018 and an upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine movie set for release in 2024.

Furthermore, it’s unknown if Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds will take up their roles again for the forthcoming films in the Marvel series. Nevertheless, there’s much discussion and anticipation about this among Marvel fans.

In American cinemas, the premiere of “Avengers: Doomsday” is scheduled for December 18, 2026, and “Avengers: Secret Wars” will follow suit a year later on December 17, 2027.
