Burger King’s hit Naruto collab is finally coming to the US… kinda

The much-talked-about partnership between Burger King and Naruto will make its way to the United States starting July 21. However, those anticipating a complete anime transformation may need to adjust their expectations somewhat.

In early January, select Burger King outlets in France transformed their image for a brief period by adopting the “BKonoha” theme, inspired by the popular anime series Naruto. This makeover included special meals, unique merchandise, and trendy packaging, which attracted a lot of attention from Naruto fans. The event was extremely successful.

Now, American anime fans are finally getting their turn. Sort of.

From July 21st, Burger King branches across the U.S. will introduce a special Naruto-themed King Jr. Meal. This meal comes with one of six exciting collectible toys depicting popular characters from the Naruto franchise: Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Kakashi, Rock Lee, or Gaara.

But unlike the French collab, the US version stops at the toys.

Naruto invades American Burger Kings

In France, enthusiasts can purchase custom-made “Naruto Menu” and “Sasuke Menu,” each featuring signature burgers designed around the iconic characters Naruto and Sasuke from the anime series.

As a diehard fan, I’d put it this way: In the realm of my favorite dishes, Naruto’s sizzled with a succulent flame-cooked beef patty doused in orangey soy sauce and crispy fried onions, while Sasuke’s offered a tantalizing swap to a crunchy chicken patty smothered in ketchup. Exclusive goodies such as a Naruto ninja headband hat and a Sasuke-themed t-shirt accompanied each plate.

It appears that neither meals nor merchandise have been scheduled for the U.S. launch, and according to ScreenRant, Burger King hasn’t provided a reason as to why the complete experience isn’t being rolled out in the United States.

Nonetheless, the news serves as a minor triumph for U.S. aficionados of anime, indicating that Naruto’s global impact continues to thrive and expand at a steady pace.

On previous occasions, Burger King France hasn’t failed to capture the attention of the global fast-food scene. Back in 2024, there was an unexpected team-up between KFC France and Burger King France – they created a ‘BFF Burger’ together.
