The latest expansion offers two fresh playable maps, a unique specialization for each of the game’s nine professions, along with new equipment and raid content. Additionally, the Homestead system from Janthir Wilds is getting an upgrade. This includes new designs for your Homestead and the option to share your layout with others.

You can pre-order items on the official website, much like previous expansions. The regular version will cost $24.99, while there are also Deluxe and Ultimate editions priced at $49.99 and $74.99 respectively.

On October 28, 2025, ArenaNet unveiled the sixth expansion for the highly praised MMORPG “Guild Wars 2”, titled “Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity“. This new expansion will provide a wealth of fresh content and features to both veteran and novice players. The offerings include a new Homestead plot, enhanced skills for the skimmer mount, an entirely new narrative set in Castora’s island realm, two unexplored maps, and a new elite specialization for all nine playable professions within the game.

Eternity’s Visions” to Hit Shelves at $24.99, Following in the Footsteps of its Predecessor “Guild Wars 2: Janthir Wilds”. Similar to its predecessor, it has three major updates planned for release in 2026. On its launch day, two new maps will be unveiled on the island of Castora, a previously unexplored region of Tyria, teeming with ancient magics that have transformed the local fauna and flora in captivating ways. Players will be given the opportunity to delve into new character build options, as each profession can unlock a new elite specialization complete with a set of unique traits and utility skills, expanding the game’s already vast array of customization choices. The skimmer mount, proficient in aquatic territories, will acquire new abilities through one of three mastery lines connected to Castora.

In Visions of Eternity, the Homestead system from Janthir Wilds is being broadened. A fresh plot for players’ homes will be accessible on the sun-kissed shores of Castora. The new Homestead Layout feature in this expansion enables players to swiftly and effortlessly share their customized spaces with others, ensuring an identical replica as long as a player has the necessary decorations. Players can decide whether they prefer living in the wintry vales of Janthir or the tropical shores of a new island paradise, and switch between their homestead plots at will. With Layouts, restoring their favorite designs is a breeze.

The fresh tale of “Visions of Eternity” commences with whispers about an island, Castora, mythically believed by sailors from Tyria to be laden with magic and ley power. News surfaces within the Tyrian Alliance that the cunning Inquest, a group of asuran technology explorers, have been pursuing this island. When the Inquest start acting secretively, it portends peril for all of Tyria. Joined by those who are bold enough to embark on an uncertain journey, the Commander embarks on a quest to uncover the Inquest’s intentions—and to thwart them before disaster strikes.

Josh Davis, Game Director of Guild Wars 2, shared that Visions of Eternity will continue their annual tradition of significant content updates. As we approach over a decade since the game’s release, they are focusing on refining and enhancing gameplay modes and systems to broaden the scope of Guild Wars 2’s gameplay experience. This upcoming expansion introduces new elite specializations for increased player customization options and seamless accessibility across various game modes and activities.

A wealth of new features, activities, and storylines open up new possibilities for play: 

  • New maps: Two new explorable maps will be available on October 28, with a third and fourth to follow in future updates.
  • Elite Specializations: A new swath of character build options arrives to provide even more gameplay possibilities. Each new elite specialization offers new utility skills and traits for players to discover and hone their preferred play style across the broad range of the game’s nine character professions. Anyone with a Guild Wars 2 account can partake in a beta to try out the new elite specializations August 20-27.
  • New and improved Skimmer: Dive into the sea with improved exploration and combat abilities on the skimmer. The skimmer updates represent one of three new mastery lines tied to the region of Castora.
  • New Raid Encounters and group content: The magically-infused landscape of the island is home to all manner of warped and twisted wildlife, which will provide groups of 10 players their ultimate challenge in instanced PvE content, coming in future updates.
  • New Homestead plot: By turning the wreckage of an island shipwreck into a fantabulous beachside home, decorators will have full control over the furniture, structure, and accessories in their cozy new paradise. Homestead Layouts can be shared with other players, giving characters instant access to their friends’ best designs so long as they have the required decorations.
  • New Legendary Gear: A legendary weapon and legendary acquabreather at launch will be joined later by a legendary ring, legendary accessory, and another legendary weapon in later releases. These, along with a host of new armor and weapon sets and new Wizards Vault rewards will bring a decidedly magic island vibe to the adventure.
