Given the high demand for John Wick-themed games, it’s rare to find titles where players can take on the role of the famed assassin. Unfortunately, that number is decreasing as John Wick Hex will be removed from digital stores by the end of this week on PC and consoles.
On the Steam page for John Wick Hex, Big Fan Games announced that they will be removing the game from distribution on July 17th. However, those who buy it before then can still play their copies. Owners of a physical version of John Wick Hex will also retain access to this tactical action RPG.
The announcement made no mention of why the game was being removed, but it’s possible that the licensing for the John Wick series may have expired, leading to its delisting. Initially published by Good Shepherd Entertainment, John Wick Hex was available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. In 2024, Devolver Digital, Good Shepherd’s parent company, transferred the publishing rights for John Wick Hex to one of its subsidiaries, Big Fan Games.
You can purchase John Wick Hex right now from Humble Bundle at a reduced price of just $4. On the other hand, it retails for $20 on Xbox, PlayStation Network, and Nintendo Online.
In 2022, Lionsgate admitted to considering several proposals for a John Wick triple-A video game. The studio later confirmed that discussions about a new John Wick game were ongoing in 2023, but no definite plans have been made public yet. Most recently, Ana de Armas revisited her character Eve Macarro from the John Wick spinoff film Ballerina, appearing as a playable character in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone.
