When Is John Wick Hex Game Being Removed From All Platforms & Why?

As a die-hard fan of the John Wick franchise, I can’t help but feel a tinge of disappointment. Despite the thrilling potential for video game developers to emulate the series’ unique style and action, only one official adaptation has graced our screens: John Wick Hex. Regrettably, six years after its launch, this highly-anticipated game will be unavailable on all platforms starting from this week.

Why John Wick Hex will be removed from sale on all platforms, and when

John Wick Hex is a tactical strategy game launched in 2019, offering players a unique experience inspired by the popular John Wick film series. In this video game, you control the titular character as he engages in intense shootouts against hordes of professional assassins, a theme prevalent throughout the movies.

The video game garnered generally favorable reviews, scoring a 74 on Metacritic. Though it thrived and amassed a dedicated following, regrettably, the game is no longer accessible. By July 17, 2025, digital platforms will have taken it down.

Starting July 17th, 2025, sales for the game John Wick Hex will no longer be available on any platform. Existing owners can continue to play it through their digital libraries or physical copies, but new purchases won’t be possible after this date, regardless of where you buy it from.

In other words, individuals who currently have the game as a physical copy can continue playing, however, potential newcomers won’t be able to buy it physically any longer.

It’s unclear from the developers why they’re removing the game, but rumors point towards a licensing problem. Given that this is an adaptation, it seems plausible that this issue could be the reason.

Perhaps Big Fan Games will soon release a statement or an update about a possible cause.
