When Is The Next Nintendo Direct? It Could Be Coming In July

It seems that a new Nintendo Direct broadcast could be airing quite soon, as per the reliable source Nate the Hate, who mentioned on his podcast today, July 14th, that the upcoming Direct is expected to take place this month.

He mentioned that there’s a rumor about an event happening in July, which is often referred to as the million-dollar question. However, he clarified that this event won’t occur until after the release of Donkey Kong Bananza. As for further details, such as the exact date, he currently doesn’t have any information available.

If the report turns out to be correct, then it’s likely that a Nintendo Direct presentation will take place following the release of Bananza on July 17 (for the Switch 2 system).

He didn’t say much about an upcoming Nintendo Direct, but there could be numerous announcements, such as a potential Donkey Kong film or confirmation that Red Dead Redemption II is coming to the Switch. Activision is also interested in bringing Call of Duty to the Nintendo Switch.

On July 22nd, there’s a Pokemon Presents event scheduled. Nate the Hate mentioned that having this Nintendo-related event and a possible Nintendo Direct in the same week isn’t unheard of, but he thinks it might be safer to speculate that the Nintendo Direct could occur towards the end of July instead. If this turns out to be true, it would happen just before Nintendo releases its next financial results on August 1st.

In June 18th, Nintendo held an exclusive Nintendo Direct dedicated solely to Bananza. Prior to this, there was the Switch 2 Direct on April 2nd and a Mario Kart World Direct on April 17th. Interestingly, no Nintendo Direct events were held in July of either 2023 or 2024. However, this lack of past events might not necessarily predict future trends. Keep an eye on TopMob for the most recent updates.

It could be beneficial to monitor the Nintendo Today app too, since Nintendo often announces news there before making it public elsewhere.
