Known Nintendo Switch piracy platforms, which had been popular for offering ROM downloads, are now offline due to intervention by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
In the gaming world, just as with other platforms and consoles, the challenge of combating piracy is an ongoing one for Nintendo.
Since the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, it’s evident that the company has intensified its efforts to address the issue of piracy. In fact, numerous users have reported being permanently banned from their original Switch consoles, loaded with pirated games, as recently as last month.
Currently, the well-known site, Nsw2u, frequently utilized by players for downloading Nintendo Switch ROMs, no longer functions as intended. While the domain name is still visible in search results on Google, attempting to access it will not lead you to its typical webpage.
Some Nintendo piracy sites have been seized and are no longer accessible

Upon checking currently, the Nsw2u website displays a notice that reads, “This site has been taken over”. Consequently, users are unable to obtain ‘unauthorized’ copies of Nintendo Switch games via this platform.
The site you’re visiting is currently unavailable because it has been seized by the FBI, in compliance with a warrant obtained from the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia under the authority of 18 U.S.C. 2323. This action was taken as part of an ongoing law enforcement operation led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
In my gaming world, hearing about the removal of ‘NSW2U’ has left me feeling quite nostalgic and sad. One fellow player summed it up perfectly when they said: “Rest in Peace, ‘NSW2U’, shaking my head.
It was pointed out by another user that a game called ‘game-2u’, believed to be owned by the same individual as Nsw2u, has also been shut down. The identical message indicating seizure by the FBI was displayed in both instances.
Nintendo takes a firm stance on the use of the Switch 2. They reserve the right to permanently ban users from the eShop and online services if they discover any breach of the device’s terms and conditions. This could happen through the use of unapproved peripherals or pirated games.
Just the other day, I discovered an important lesson the hard way – popping a previously-used Nintendo Switch cartridge into my second Switch wasn’t such a bright move.
