We have developed a College Football guide titled “Road to Glory” designed to assist players in molding their future Heisman Trophy winners and NFL stars. Essentially, Road to Glory is a unique mode that allows you to concentrate on managing a single player instead of an entire team, as found in Dynasty. To maintain your position on the depth chart, you must balance your off-field activities with winning games and fulfilling various objectives. This guide will walk you through starting your Road to Glory (RTG) career, allocating energy points, understanding the different menus, and much more. Let’s dive straight into it without any further delay.
College Football 26 Road To Glory Guide – What is Road To Glory?
In College Football 26: Road to Glory, you have the opportunity to craft your own football player and experience their college journey, starting from high school this time around – a significant change from the previous version. This five-part storyline can shape both your character and the colleges interested in you, offering a dynamic and immersive experience. While there are many familiar aspects, we’d like to highlight some fresh features for you.
League Setup – College Football 26 Road To Glory Guide
In Road to Glory, similar to Dynasty Mode, I get the exciting opportunity to customize my league setup before diving in. This includes designing my very own Custom Conferences and tweaking gameplay settings to suit my preferences. Even if I’m a rookie in this series, it’s perfectly okay to start on the Freshman or Varsity difficulty levels. The game is designed to be enjoyable for players of all skill levels!
Furthermore, we suggest you give the game settings a thorough examination, particularly the gameplay sliders. There’s no rush to modify them immediately, but should you wish to experience specific aspects of the game more (or less) intensely, feel free to tweak these options gradually.
- Better/worse pass or run block protection
- Improved or worsened ability to catch (both WRs and DBs)
- QB accuracy & more
In this software, you have the flexibility to customize settings for both CPU and user interactions. Feel free to tweak these options whenever you wish. Additionally, this tool, known as CFB 26, enables you to store certain settings, enabling you to revert to them if you make a change that you later find undesirable. To enhance your experience, I suggest boosting the run and pass block protection, as at times the AI might not perform its duties as expected.
To conclude, this page provides an option for you to bring in a High School Team Builder. If you’re familiar with operating the Team Builder, by all means, utilize this function. But remember, it’s not essential for getting the complete experience.

Which College Football 26: Road to Glory Journey is Best for Me? – A Handbook on College Football 26: Road to Glory
In College Football 26: Road to Glory, you embark on a personal journey for your player, where you choose a backstory. Similar to last season, the game offers a range of options for your player’s starting status, ranging from two-star to five-star recruit. As the ratings indicate, players with more stars are more likely to be recruited by prominent schools or institutions that have successfully persuaded them to join through various means.
In College Football 26, everyone’s journey is unique since it all boils down to personal preference. Yet, your star-rating might sway how much playing time you get and which schools express interest in recruiting you. If you’ve got dreams of suiting up for a powerhouse like Georgia or Penn State, you’ll need to shine brightly with a high star rating. But remember, that’s not the only route to catch a coach’s eye. Your skills, work ethic, and determination can also make you stand out on the gridiron.
In the latest edition of College Football 26, there’s a fresh, immersive career starting option titled “The High School Experience”. If you prefer, you can skip this phase and jump directly to college. However, it is strongly suggested to complete all five games within the high school experience for a more comprehensive understanding of the game, which we will delve deeper into shortly.
Interview Phase – College Football 26 Road To Glory Guide
At the onset of your journey (irrespective of whether you’re part of High School or not), you’ll get a text from a local TV Journalist. She’ll inquire about your preferences for a school. If you’ve played Dynasty, you’re already familiar with the fact that each school has its own Team Reputation and varying School Quality. Here are some examples of these aspects:
1. Team Reputation (Prestige)
2. School Quality (Grades)
- Home Proximity – Distance between player’s home and school
- Championship Contender – Is the school a contender for the national championship?
- Playing Time – Will the player see the field early and often?
Similar to the previous academic year, there are certain grades that remain unalterable, such as Home Proximity. On the other hand, other grades have the ability to evolve over time, including factors like Coach Prestige or being a potential championship contender.
When you’re attending an interview for a school, choose three essential values that are important to you in an educational institution. To help identify these values, browse through different school performance ratings, such as those found on platforms like Dynasty, to discover the strengths of your ideal school.
If you’re from Alabama and aspire to join the Crimson Tide team by winning a championship, this could increase your chances of being included in their roster. Your abilities might sway potential teammates to choose you as a teammate. Nevertheless, don’t assume that Georgia will approach you for a spot on their team just because you aim to be a championship contender, especially if you’re only a two-star recruit.
How can you catch the attention of top-tier schools such as Georgia? By crafting an impressive high school portfolio!
The High School Experience – College Football 26 Road To Glory Guide
In “College Football 26: Road To Glory,” players get to simulate the High School Journey, which involves a series of five matches played within a custom-made High School. For those interested in crafting their own college football team, our Team Builder guide offers step-by-step instructions.
Throughout your high school journey, it’s essential to enhance your academic record, compile a list of preferred universities, and engage in extracurricular activities that shape your personality.
1. Perform well in games: This will help you catch the attention of schools and boost your star rating.
2. Complete Key Moments during each drive: Doing so will grant you an extra bonus for the schools, enhancing your chances of impressing them further.
By following these two steps, you’ll be well on your way to making a strong impression on schools and improving your overall performance!
At the start of a game, you’ll be given the opportunity to select four distinct goals that you need to achieve during a drive. These objectives are related to your role and type within the game.
As a versatile Quarterback who can both run and pass, you might sometimes be required to cover a specific distance while rushing. Alternatively, you could be expected to advance a certain yardage within a single play. So, choose wisely when deciding on the opportunities you wish to seize.
Luckily, if you don’t succeed in a level or moment, the game allows you multiple attempts. In the event that things go badly, you even have the option to go back to the main menu and start all over again. This convenience also means you can pick different levels or moments whenever you want.
To help you secure admission into your preferred college, examine the lower right corner of each Moment box. Here, you’ll find details about the Tape bonus that particular institutions offer when specific objectives are fulfilled. For instance, completing a desired objective might triple the appeal of your application tape for a certain school. Thus, strategically choosing and showcasing your achievements can increase your chances of being accepted into your desired college.
Throughout your high school journey, compile a top 10 list of educational institutions that appeal to you. Here’s a suggestion on how to structure it: Categorize the list into three sections – your top 3 preferred schools, the next 4 schools of interest, and the final 3 schools as backups or wildcards. This way, you have a balanced approach when considering various factors such as location, academic programs, campus life, and more.
- 3 “Dream” Schools – Schools that you may not get into, but you really want to play for
- 4-5 Realistic Options – A School you can definitely start in for Year 1 (unless you want to Redshirt)
- 2-3 Backup Options – Schools that you’ll definitely earn a scholarship for, even if they’re low-ranked
Luckily, you’re allowed to adjust and extend your list of potential schools throughout your academic journey until its completion. By the time you play your final High School game, it’s crucial to narrow down your choices to a mere three institutions. Don’t fret, by then, you should have a good idea about which schools are most interested in you.
Earning a higher tape score will attract more teams’ attention towards you. Also, improved performances lead to greater benefits like an upgrade in your star rating. You might progress from a three-star recruit to a four or even five-star by the end of your high school experience. However, what other activities can you engage in during your high school years?
Beyond the playing field, you’ll engage in conversations with your coach, fellow players, and sometimes coaches from university teams. Collectively, these interactions help you adapt to the decision-making structure that will be prevalent throughout your professional journey.
In general, interactions with teammates and coaches will mostly be casual. If a teammate invites you to Homecoming, you’re free to politely decline and opt for a training session with your personal coach instead. However, the crucial conversations will primarily involve college coaches.
The toughest instances to conquer during high school are called Highlight Moments. Despite their difficulty, they offer an impressive six-fold Tape Score bonus for the college that initially presented the challenge. For instance, a versatile Quarterback may be tasked with achieving a 50-yard dash in a single play. Oh my!
This task is quite complex and may necessitate not only expertise but also some fortuitous circumstances for its successful completion. So, consider the educational institution that presented you with this challenge. Is it a school you’ve long aspired to attend, perhaps your ‘dream school’? Or is it an institution where your interest has already been piqued?
Based on the amount of connection you’ve established with schools, you might not have to fully utilize a Highlight Moment. Instead, examine your position with each school in your Top 10 Schools list. Also, take note of their current recruiting classes and whether they’ve extended a Scholarship offer to you.
In high school, the pinnacle aspiration along the path to glory is securing scholarships. Achieving a scholarship not only with a team but also earns you an additional scholarship bonus. These bonuses significantly impact your initial evaluation and skills when you commence college.
What’s the method to secure top-tier bonuses? By boosting your star rating, fulfilling tasks, and leaving a lasting impression on schools. If you consistently perform well and accomplish tasks that impress your preferred schools, scholarships will be abundant. In essence, aiming for higher scholarship tiers could lead to significant rewards.
- Better Academics, Brand, Leadership, and Training Meter values
- More XP
- Extra Skill Points
- A higher starting Coach Trust
Be sure to visit the recruitment area on the bulletin board for details about any current scholarships or bonus offers that the school might have available.
Once you complete your high school education, you have the option to “Officially Declare” your commitment to a team. This act secures your current scholarship benefits and prevents any further increases or reductions. However, remember that a university may still withdraw its offer if it finds another candidate more suitable.
You have the option to withdraw your commitment whenever you wish, but there will be consequences. The institution could raise the standard for acceptance onto the sports team, making it more challenging to join. Furthermore, they might not provide you with the same incentives as before, which means you won’t qualify for the maximum scholarship benefits.
Over the past couple of weeks, you might have a pretty solid idea about the gaming team you’d like to join. As we approach week 4, it could be beneficial to officially commit to your chosen team, especially if they:
1. Offer a competitive environment that aligns with your gaming style and ambitions.
2. Have a supportive community where you feel valued and encouraged.
3. Provide resources and opportunities for growth and development as a player.
- Offer a great Scholarship Bonus
- Offer you a Starting, or at least Second String Position
To choose the school you wish to represent, you’ll first need to narrow down your initial list of 10 potential schools to just three. On Signing Day, you will find your chosen player seated at a table with hats symbolizing your top three final picks, each hat representing one of the selected schools.
We recommend signing with a school that will either:
- Start you in Year 1 OR
- Redshirt you in Year 1 to make you a Starter in Year 2.
Considering the benefits of redshirting, some may prefer not to extend an entire academic year. Here’s a comprehensive analysis of the merits and demerits associated with redshirting in College Football. (26 words)
Have fun as you select your school, as your College experience has finally begun.
How to Increase your Attributes in College Football 26 – College Football 26 Road To Glory Guide
In College Football 26: Road to Glory, you’ll need to accumulate Experience Points (XP) and advance to higher levels in order to earn Skill Points. These Skill Points can then be utilized to boost any of your primary statistics. Enhancing a statistic not only improves that particular attribute but also raises several others simultaneously.
For example, spending skill Points on a QB’s accuracy rating improves their:
- Short, Medium, & Deep Throw Accuracy
- Throw on the run
- Throw Under Pressure
Every player has six fundamental statistics, some of which have predetermined maximum values based on their specific role. To illustrate, a Dual Threat Quarterback can never exceed an Intelligence Quotient (IQ) rating of 90%.
How to Increase Coach Trust & Happiness in College Football 26 Road to Glory
To excel in College Football 26, it’s crucial to boost both your Coach Relationship Gauge and the latest Coach Satisfaction Indicator. In essence, maintaining a content coach is now essential for building Coach Trust. If your coach is dissatisfied or indifferent towards you, you risk losing Coach Trust or not gaining any at all.
As a gamer, I’ve learned that engaging in intense competition with another player might lead to a heated Positional Battle, which isn’t ideal for maintaining a harmonious gaming environment. To ensure my coaches are pleased and the gameplay remains enjoyable, I strive to:
1. Communicate effectively: Keeping my teammates informed about my strategies and movements can help us work together more efficiently.
2. Collaborate willingly: Working with other players on shared objectives can lead to better results and a more satisfying gaming experience.
3. Demonstrate sportsmanship: Being respectful, patient, and understanding towards fellow gamers can make the game more enjoyable for everyone involved.
4. Adapt quickly: Being flexible in my approach allows me to adjust my strategies based on the situation and the actions of my opponents.
5. Focus on improvement: Rather than solely concentrating on defeating other players, I aim to learn from each gaming session and grow as a player over time.
- Spending Energy Points on Leadership
- Performing well during games and practice
- Doing random activities that will impress your coach
- Completing Specific in-game moments
- Performing well Academically
As your Coach’s Happiness level increases, so does the bonus you get in Coach Trust. For instance, a content Coach might initially grant you a 15% bonus on Coach Trust. It may not seem like much, but a happier coach will result in a more noticeable increase over time.
The significance of Coach Trust lies in its role of ensuring your continued position as a starter. Moreover, it provides you with the means to access extra plays, manipulate Hot Routes, Pass Protections, Audibles, and numerous other features. Furthermore, Coach Trust also influences the number of Play Counts and Extra Plays you can utilize during a game.
Additionally, Reserve Players can leverage Coach Confidence and Joy to outshine their competitors and engage in a Position Contest. In this training, you’ll participate in three mini-games tailored to your role. To advance, you should aim to win at least two of these contests. It’s advisable to save your game prior to entering a position contest. Notably, having a content coach is essential to start one.
Remember that building trust with your coach is a gradual process throughout the year, not just limited to playing well on the field. Strive for excellence in your performance, demonstrate respect and loyalty towards your coach, and maintain good academic standing. By doing so, you’ll be positioning yourself effectively to assume leadership roles within the team.
You can check your Coach Trust and Happiness meters in the Weekly Agenda within the Coach Tab.
What to Do During The Weekly Agenda in College Football 26 Road To Glory
Each week during RTG, prioritize reviewing The Weekly Plan as your initial step. Throughout the week, you’ll need to allocate a set amount of Energy Points towards various tasks, such as:
1. Engaging in diverse activities.
- Academics – Increases GPA
- A GPA below 2.0 prevents you from playing
- Higher Academic scores result in higher Coach Happiness gains
- Preparedness earns you the Fan Favorite Ability
- Graduate early if you maintain a high GPA throughout your career
- Leadership – Spend time with the team and earn the following:
- Increased Coach Happiness, Team XP gains, and Composure
- A new Mental Ability
- Health – Indicates level of Wear & Tear
- Manage your Season & Career Health Pools (Check your health pools in the Health Section of Upgrade Player)
- XP – Train your player
- Puts Wear & Tear on your body
- Brand – Increase Brand awareness leads to more rewards
- New Mental Ability, Deal Tiers, and fan engagements
In summary, it’s advisable to allocate your Energy Points primarily towards Academics and Leadership initially. This focus will aid you in attending classes for football training and fostering team growth through leadership skills, both of which contribute significantly to Team XP gains. Furthermore, early development of Mental Abilities can prove beneficial due to their usefulness in activating them.
But sometimes, you’ll be forced to spend energy points on certain things like:
- Brand Deals
- School Work
- Team Activities
- Resting Your Player
Engaging in Brand Deals can be beneficial for boosting the visibility of your brand. However, it might be wiser to prioritize building a strong academic record with a good GPA and proven leadership skills before delving into brand matters.
At times, you might find yourself requiring Energy Points to sustain other ratings. For instance, your academic advisor could suggest studying for an imminent test, or your teammates might invite you for practice sessions or socializing. Be mindful of your decisions since they could potentially leave you with fewer points to use in a particular week.
Typically, you gain around six energy points during a regular week, seven points when there’s no game (bye), and five points during a shorter week. The structure of your team’s schedule influences the amount of time available to you each week.
Practice – College Football 26 Road To Glory Guide
In the game Road To Glory, completing small games called practices will boost your Coach Trust. Each role has distinct practice mini-games tailored specifically for them, and it’s suggested that you engage in these activities weekly.
Upon finishing a training session, you might earn Bronze, Silver, or Gold ratings depending on your performance. If your performance is subpar, neither a rating nor the associated bonus will be awarded. Fortunately, you can always re-attempt a training session before it ends; simply restart if you know you won’t finish in time, or go back to the main menu and pick a different game instead.
Instead of just simulating practice, consider engaging in it for a more exploratory approach to your gameplay. This not only enriches your gaming experience, but also deepens the mode and enhances your weekly routine.
Gameday – College Football 26 Road To Glory Guide
At long last, we’ve reached the big day, Game Day. The experience is quite distinct when comparing gameplay in RTG (Road to Glory) to Dynasty.
Initially, the power to decide plays lies within your Coach’s Trust Level. As a beginner, your coach will largely dictate the plays. Yet, as your trust level with your coach grows, you’ll gradually gain more authority over your team’s offensive strategies.
- Audibles
- Hot Routes
- Pass Protections
- Extra Play Options (recycles all play suggestions)
- Play Count (How many plays are available to choose from every time you huddle up)
Fundamentally, exerting greater effort grants you more authority, but it’s important to note that your game strategies are still advice from the coach. To illustrate, if you’re leading by 31 points with merely 20 seconds remaining, your coach will likely advise a running play or a kneel-down almost every time.
Here’s a more conversational way to phrase it: “You know, there’s a trick to bypass this situation – it’s called a fast-paced offense. With this strategy, you can call an ‘audible’ and choose from several different plays on the fly. However, be aware that overusing this fast pace might lead to fatigue for you and your teammates.
Wear & Tear – College Football 26 Road To Glory Guide
In College Football, every point matters, which means taking care of your players’ wellbeing is crucial. Before establishing your team, there’s an option to disable this feature, but let’s discuss its functionality regardless.
Wear & Tear is a system where players actually perform worse depending on several factors like:
- How much damage they take (tackles)
- How often they play (# of Snaps)
- Injuries
In RTG (Realistic Tennis Game), you’re responsible for managing both your seasonal and overall health reserves throughout your career. If your season health pool is depleted at the end of a year, you’ll find yourself starting the next year with less health.
As a gamer, I always prioritize my gaming health by avoiding excessive, risky moves. I know that going all out without caution could lead to gradual damage and unforeseen injuries. Plus, the more intense sessions I have, the greater the impact on my gaming stamina. So, it’s essential to strike a balance between challenge and self-preservation.
Wrapping up our College Football 26: Road To Glory Beginner’s Guide! We believe this guide will assist you in grasping the workings of RTG. Wishing you great success as you bring honor to your college and make it to the NFL draft. By the way, upon completing your career, you can import your player into Madden NFL 26.
