Lego has announced that its Transformers collection is expanding next month with the introduction of Soundwave. This is the first Decepticon to receive a Lego makeover, following Optimus Prime and Bumblebee figures which have already been released. Similar to these beloved characters, Soundwave can transform into his famous boombox form, and he comes with additional features. Retailing at $190, Soundwave will start invading toy shelves on August 1 for members of the Lego Insiders program, and on August 4 for everyone else.
If you haven’t snagged them already, both the Lego sets featuring Optimus Prime and Bumblebee have been incredibly popular since their initial release. Building each set is a delight, and they transform without needing to be taken apart. On Prime Day, you can take advantage of a substantial discount on each set. The 1,508-piece Optimus Prime set, which typically retails for $180, is now available for $144. Similarly, the Bumblebee kit, consisting of 950 pieces, has been reduced from its original price of $90 to $85.49.
During Amazon’s Prime Day 2025 event, Walmart is also offering discounts on various Lego sets, making it a fantastic time for Lego enthusiasts. Notably, popular sets such as the Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series X-Wing Starfighter, the retired Lego Ideas: The Office diorama, and the Guardians of the Galaxy Milano Starship are included in these sales.
A notable Lego set currently on sale is the 2,807-piece display model of Bowser, making it the largest Lego set within the Super Mario Bros series. Typically priced at $270, you can now get it for just $219. Given that this Bowser model is seldom discounted, this offer is definitely one to jump on before it runs out of stock.
