On the very day she was unveiled as the cover athlete for the WNBA edition of NBA 2K26, Angel Reese mirrored her cover image from NBA 2K26 during the Chicago Sky’s triumph over the Dallas Wings. Remarkably, this win also marked her seventh consecutive double-double.
15 points and 11 rebounds were added to her impressive performance, which also marked her as the second youngest player for Sky to surpass 700 points. In a picture shared by a fan on X, Reese is depicted resembling her NBA 2K26 cover image, while donning her signature Reebok shoes for the very first time.
In her inaugural matchup while sporting her personal shoe line, Angel Reese successfully reproduced the pose from her NBA 2K cover image.

In the NBA 2K26 game, Reese, alongside Shai-Gilgeous Alexander and Carmelo Anthony, will each have their own individual covers for the WNBA, standard, and legend editions respectively. Additionally, all three players will appear on the cover of the “Leave No Doubt” edition.
Appearing on the cover of NBA 2K26 and introducing my initial signature shoe with Reebok, named the Angel Reese 1, is not just a significant achievement; it’s a powerful message. It’s about representation, demonstrating that young girls can be self-assured, courageous, and occupy space without apologies,” Reese expressed in a statement.
Sky’s Angel Reese joins elite list of WNBA stars
As a dedicated gamer, it’s mind-blowing to step onto the virtual court alongside WNBA legends, with Candace Parker joining the ranks of greats in the NBA 2K22 WNBA 25th Anniversary Edition, representing my beloved Sky team. It’s an honor to follow in the footsteps of these giants and share the limelight, making me, Reese, the second active Sky player to grace a 2K cover. Truly a dream come true!
In NBA 2K23, the WNBA edition showcased basketball stars Diana Taurasi and Sue Bird. Meanwhile, Sabrina Ionescu and A’Ja Wilson graced the covers of NBA 2K24 and NBA 2K25 editions specifically designed for women.
As a gamer, it’s an extraordinary privilege to be engraved in NBA 2K history, a recognition that not only highlights my personal gaming journey but also salutes the trailblazing WNBA veterans who came before me and the expanding influence of the league as a whole. I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming game!
NBA 2K26 is set to be released on September 5, 2025.
