By May 24th, it surpassed its previous highest number of players ever, and by June 22nd, it established another peak with a staggering 35,892 concurrent PC gamers joining in. For a while, it became the hot topic within the gaming industry.
It turns out that Battlefront 2 isn’t just seeing a comeback on PC; instead, its resurgence is happening across all gaming platforms, propelling it to become one of the top-selling titles in May 2025.

In May, 2025, it was the 12th best-selling game in the United States, marking a significant improvement from its position as the 135th best-seller in April, 2025. This surge in popularity is truly heartening for a Star Wars fan like me!
As a dedicated gamer, I can confidently say that, based on current data, our latest release seems to be outperforming some of the newer ones in the market. For instance, EA’s F1 25 didn’t make it to the top 10 best-sellers in May, debuting at number 15 instead.
This finding is particularly noteworthy because it’s based on actual U.S. dollar sales. Considering that Battlefront 2 has been extensively marked down during its comeback, and this is in contrast to regular, full-priced new releases, it adds even more weight to this achievement.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 once more surpassed its record number of simultaneous players on Steam, with over 35,000 people playing. Remarkably, this game, which is eight years old, hasn’t received an update in the last five years.

The Star Wars shooter climbed to the 21st spot on Steam’s top sellers list towards the end of June, during its height of popularity on the platform. Since then, it has remained on the best-sellers list for nine consecutive weeks.
Additionally, Battlefront 2 continues to be one of the top sellers on both the PlayStation and Xbox marketplaces. With over 20,000 players logging in daily on Steam, it’s evident that a significant number of gamers are still engaged with the game following its recent comeback.
