Chris Pratt Announces Garfield 2 in the Most Epic Way

For two consecutive years, Chris Pratt lent his voice to adventurous and witty animated characters. With the sequel to The Super Mario Bros. Movie set for release in 2026, it appears that the star of Jurassic World will once again take on the role of another fan favorite of Italian cuisine. This announcement of a follow-up to 2024’s The Garfield Movie is particularly fitting given Pratt’s choice of words.

Instead of simply posting a thanks on social media and hinting at a future movie appearance in 20XX, Chris Pratt took it up a notch by officially announcing “The Garfield Movie 2” with some flair, as if the news was topped with an extra layer of cheese.

Before anyone might question why we’re having another adventure with Jim Davis’ plump cat, Garfield, let me clarify the reason using one simple word: “profit.” Despite not reaching the box office heights of the hypothetical “Inside Out 2,” “The Garfield Movie” still managed to pull in an estimated $257.2 million, which is significantly more than its reported production budget of $60 million.

As a dedicated fan, it’s hard not to mention the fact that the incredible success of Garfield during its opening weekend certainly boosted my confidence in the beloved orange tabby. One more point that likely clinched the deal is my strong hunch that Chris Pratt was eager to continue his journey in the Garfield movie saga.

This type of voice acting job is ideal for frequent plays among children, as those who follow the top 10 rankings on that particular service will confirm. Since the previous edition is now available via Netflix streaming, it’s likely that this could lead to an increase in viewership for those curious about the buzz surrounding it.

It’s not surprising that an actor doesn’t request a “Custom Announcement Pie with Extra Excitement” from a pizzeria without reason (trust me, they do exist). In the same vein, I believe the upcoming Garfield sequel is happening because Chris Pratt genuinely wants it to happen.

It’s quite amusing; voice acting jobs seem incredibly enjoyable for characters like the quote-spitting comedian from Parks and Recreation. If you think about it, this could be what happens when an actor’s hidden “class clown” persona surfaces, but Chris Pratt’s playful side was already in motion well before Bryce Dallas Howard exposed that secret.

Unfortunately, if the information we need isn’t in one of those other movies, there’s no confirmed release date for “The Garfield Movie 2” at this time. As soon as more details emerge, we’ll share all the latest updates with you. By the way, does a slice of Sicilian pizza sound absolutely delicious to anyone else right now?
