This year, it’s expected that Borderlands 4 will transport players to a freshly discovered world known as Kairos. A prior trailer unveiled the game’s antagonist, The Timekeeper, and his followers. Now, the developers of Borderlands 4 are offering a more detailed glimpse at Kairos, along with the diverse groups inhabiting it.
In the video, it’s explained that Kairos is a planet where prisoners are held, and it has been under the rule of the Timekeeper for an extended period. Although the Timekeeper doesn’t have complete control over the population, he does have advanced technology that allows him to suppress the people and see through their eyes whenever he wishes.
Most of the freshly presented groups in the video harbor reasons to dislike the Timekeeper, with Idolater Sol from Fadefields being the sole exception. He was banished from the capital city and now seeks to win back the Timekeeper’s favor, hoping to demonstrate his value when the player’s group lands on the planet. The other factions might detest the Timekeeper, but it can’t be assumed they’ll align with the player.
Sam Winkler, the narrative director, has revealed that Borderlands 4 now includes an adjustable volume for Claptrap. This means you can now reduce his chatter to your preferred level. The developers have mentioned that Kairos, the world of Borderlands 4, is designed to provide a smooth and uninterrupted exploration experience as players traverse the planet without encountering load screens. Additionally, players will have the option to replay missions they’ve already finished in this new installment.
In Borderlands 4, players can expect a greater number of skills for each character compared to the previous two games put together. Additionally, this upcoming game is set to incorporate a long-awaited feature that many fans have asked for – a radar system.
In simpler terms, you can play Borderlands 4 starting from September 12 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and computers. The game is also planned to arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 at a later date.
