Skyrim Map Remade In Lego Is Just As Massive As You’d Expect, Uses Nearly 74,000 Bricks

A dedicated fan constructed a replica of the Skyrim map entirely out of Legos, requiring nearly 74,000 pieces and approximately 2.5 years to assemble.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim stands out as one of gaming’s most renowned open-world environments, offering players an expansive fantasy playground they could easily spend hundreds of hours exploring. Although there are numerous Lego fan creations based on video games, such as this remarkable Lego Helldivers 2 Super Destroyer, and even authorized Lego sets for games like The Legend of Zelda and Super Mario Bros., transforming a vast map like Skyrim’s into a Lego creation is no simple task.

Ian Roosma, the creator, indeed undertook this task, though it wasn’t an easy feat. As detailed on their YouTube channel, the construction process spanned nine months of planning and a whopping two years to complete. The map measures a staggering eight feet across and over six feet tall, with a total of 44 layers, making it a topographic representation of the Skyrim landscape. Interestingly, out of the 73,761 Lego bricks used in its creation, no less than 5,776 were dedicated to building trees.

As a dedicated fan, I must say what truly captivates me about this map is the abundance of points-of-interest hidden within it. In total, there are 292 locations to discover, from legendary Skyrim cities like Whiterun, Windhelm, Markarth, Riften, and many more. You’ll also find Shrines of Talos, Dwemer ruins, Standing Stones, lighthouses, farms, shipwrecks, Imperial and Stormcloak camps, and a myriad of other intriguing landmarks scattered across this fascinating Lego terrain.

According to Roosma, speaking with TopMob, Skyrim offers an enduring experience within a richly detailed and unforgettable universe – one that will forever linger in their memory.

Roosma remarked, “Each time I place a new landmark on the map felt like a nostalgic journey back through all the hours I spent playing Skyrim.

Roosma has built video game-themed custom Legos before, such as recreating the original Legend of Zelda’s map with 25,000 bricks. Now that the Skyrim map is complete, Roosma may have more free time to work on something new.

He expressed doubt about creating another Lego project as impressive as the current one, saying instead he would focus on Oblivion Remastered now that this project was finished.
