In response to a tweet from Billy Mitchell, the Twitch streamer known as Pirate Software stated that legal action may be taken against him following his direct mention.
As a dedicated gamer, I excitedly logged into Twitter on July 5th only to find a cryptic tweet from Mitchell: “Pirate Software will face legal action.” Without any additional details, it left me wondering who’d be taking them on and what led to this decision.
That very day, as they were streaming Dune: Awakening on Twitch, another viewer pointed out Mitchell’s post to the streamer (Pirate).
A blunt response to a vague accusation
At first, the streamer (also called Thor) was perplexed by the viewer’s assertion, given that all he had seen were Mitchell’s updates about his hot sauce line. However, after some search, Thor successfully located the post in question.

Upon finding the post, Thor chuckled and remarked, “Ah, he’s clearly out of his mind. But wait, it seems he did mention me after all.
Thor replied, “I’ll pass it along to my legal team for review. Whatever happens, cool. Enjoy handling it, buddy.
The article arrives in the wake of a significant uproar triggered by Pirate Software’s statements concerning the Stop Killing Games initiative, an incident that allegedly resulted in Thor facing swatting incidents and receiving threats on his life. However, it remains unclear whether Mitchell’s comments are directly linked to the SKG or if they pertain to something else entirely.
Known for his contested high scores in arcades and a contentious lawsuit with Karl Jobst, Mitchell avoided explaining the purpose of his recent post. At present, there’s no publicly disclosed legal case concerning Pirate Software that he might be referring to.
