4 The Boys Characters Are Coming to Gen V Season 2

In the second season of Gen V, we can anticipate a broader exploration of the universe of The Boys. This is possible due to several characters from the original series reappearing in the narrative. The debut season of Gen V introduced audiences to Godolkin University (God U), a training ground for Vought’s promising new superheroes. Since Gen V co-exists within the same world and timeline as The Boys, it is rich with familiar elements and connections, a trend that will persist into Season 2.

As a passionate cinephile, I can’t help but notice the intricate connections between the end of Gen V Season 1 and The Boys’ gripping Season 4. The ominous Supe-killing virus, tested at the clandestine God U facility in The Woods, not only served as a catalyst for events in The Boys’ fourth season but also led to some beloved characters from Gen V making an appearance. And the payoff is just beginning; with Gen V Season 2 set to premiere on September 17, I can hardly wait to see how the story unfolds and how The Boys will reciprocate this crossover in their own tale!

Gen V Season 2 Is Bringing Back The Boys (Or At Least Some of Them)

Cate Dunlap

In the fifth season of the series, Cate (played by Maddie Philips) was presented as the ruler of a deity named U. She was romantically involved with Patrick Schwarzenegger’s character, nicknamed Golden Boy. Her ability to persuade people telepathically made her quite popular among students. However, Cate’s disdain for individuals without powers eventually transformed her into the antagonist of the story. She aligned herself with Golden Boy’s brother, Sam, to instigate a rebellion against non-powered beings, also known as non-Supes.

In “The Boys” Season 4, Homelander noticed this action and stepped in to safeguard Cate and Sam amidst the riots. He subsequently recruited them as companions of The Seven. Their mission during the final episode of the season was to apprehend Kimiko and Frenchie.

In Season 2 of Gen V, it’s confirmed that Cate will return, taking on a significant role as an antagonist. She’ll likely persist with her pro-Superhuman agenda, acting under the guidance of Homelander.

Sam Riordan

With Cate, one of Gen V’s primary antagonists, is Sam (Asa Germann), the younger brother of Golden Boy. Previously held captive – first at Sage Grove Center due to his schizophrenia, and later in The Woods – Sam possesses extraordinary physical strength and durability, making him a formidable presence at God U. However, his bitter resentment towards humans who inflicted cruelty upon him in The Woods has caused him to align with Cate in her anti-Supers movement.

In the fourth season of The Boys, similar to Cate, Sam was enlisted by Homelander. He is set to reappear as a villain in Season 2 of Gen V. Alongside Cate, he will serve under the false title of Guardians of Godolkin, a group that has been misrepresented.

The Deep

In a brief appearance in Season 1 of Gen V, Chace Crawford’s character from The Seven, The Deep (who had previously been disgraced and then redeemed), portrayed an ex-student paying tribute to the late professor Richard Brinkerhoff. Later in Season 4 of The Boys, The Deep found himself under Homelander’s control again, resorting to questionable and extreme methods to fulfill his role as the leader of the Seven’s pawn.

According to the trailers for Season 2 of Gen V, it seems that The Deep could play a more significant part in the story this time around. This might involve The Deep being more directly involved in the plot, as opposed to just appearing through recorded messages.

Firecracker

In Season 4 of “The Boys,” Valorie Curry’s character, known as Firecracker, joined The Seven. In the public eye, she advocates conservative right-wing views and attempted to unseat Starlight using a malicious smear campaign. Moreover, Firecracker endeavored to charm Homelander by initiating a romantic relationship with him, but this decision had some unpleasant consequences for her character.

In the second season of Gen V, Firecracker and her companion, The Deep, are expected to make an appearance. Given their significant role in Homelander’s pro-Superhero movement, it appears they might be on campus to further promote this ideology among the younger generation.

Bonus: Marie Moreau

In the series “The Boys,” though character Marie Moreau played by Jaz Sinclair hasn’t physically appeared on screen yet, she was technically one of the earliest Gen V cast members to be seen in the main show. The audience’s initial encounter with Marie took place during Season 3 when Hughie visits the Red River Institute and glimpses a list of patients, among them, a profile picture of Marie.

Afterward, Marie transitioned into a significant character in Gen V. She entered with the ambition of excelling academically to join the Seven, but instead, she found herself unraveling the enigma surrounding the Woods at the school. Her clash with Cate and Sam, who advocated against humanity, culminated in her being assaulted by Homelander in the Season 1 finale, leaving her confined in a secretive location. The details of this location will be disclosed when Gen V returns for its second season.

Four actors from “The Boys” series have been officially confirmed for roles in “Gen V” season 2. Many more actors have shown interest in being part of the extended “The Boys” universe, suggesting that “Gen V” could potentially feature some secret cameos by well-known figures.
