Since the prequels, Morrison has consistently demonstrated eagerness and passion for reprising any of his numerous characters. Therefore, it’s fitting that he receives whatever he desires from Lucasfilm.
In addition, it seems quite plausible that Rex would participate in Ahsoka season 2. Considering he was part of the Battle of Endor, it’s not likely he had already passed away at this stage.
