DC Reveals King Shark’s Shocking New Role in Teen Titans Go!

Excitedly speaking as a devoted fan, I’m eager to share some thrilling news about my favorite show, “Teen Titans Go!”. In the upcoming months, we’re going to witness a five-part special series! Before its grand debut, DC has made an exciting announcement – a major antihero from their universe will be joining the ranks of our beloved Teen Titans.

While Season 9 had a brief hiatus, it previously aired on Cartoon Network and recently returned on June 21 with a fresh episode. Interestingly enough, Season 9B premiered a day earlier, on June 20, exclusively on Max. The anticipation among fans is reaching new heights as we eagerly await the arrival of this captivating miniseries special in July. Stay tuned for more updates from the world of “Teen Titans Go!”!

In July, it’s officially confirmed that King Shark will become part of the Teen Titans team in the “Teen Titans Go!” series. Previously, King Shark was introduced and appeared only once in Season 8, specifically in an episode named “New Chum.” This five-part special is being produced to mark Shark Week, with King Shark (or Nanaue) taking center stage. Notably, King Shark made a cameo in James Gunn’s film “The Suicide Squad,” released in 2022.

The District of Columbia has unveiled a trailer for the forthcoming Teen Titans Go! special, which definitively shows that King Shark will team up with the Teen Titans during this five-episode series.

As a movie enthusiast, I’d rephrase it like this: In the trailer, King Shark is seen mingling with other Teen Titans, but there’s a twist – he gobbles up Beast Boy at their first encounter! Yet, surprisingly, Beast Boy’s voice continues to echo from within King Shark, suggesting that our friendly amphibian has been swallowed whole by the monarch of sharks. Throughout the special, we can expect to find Beast Boy residing temporarily in the belly of Nanaue.

The special episode of “Teen Titans Go!” featuring King Shark will debut on Cartoon Network this coming Saturday, July 19, at 9:30 a.m. It’s worth noting that Shark Week kicks off on both Discovery Channel and HBO Max the following day, Sunday, July 20. Consequently, it seems the “Teen Titans Go!” special is intended to mark the start of Shark Week.

It’s important to mention that at the close of this special episode, it seems probable that King Shark may revert to being solo again, as he might not join the Teen Titans permanently. In fact, they’ve occasionally taken on temporary members for specific events, and it looks like King Shark could be one of them. It’s also possible that he will free Beast Boy before departing from the team.

Every Other Temporary Member of the Teen Titans in Teen Titans Go!

Jayna

In the animated series “Teen Titans Go!”, Jayna temporarily became part of the team after Beast Boy got dismissed. However, her tenure with the group didn’t last long. Alongside her brother Zan, she decided to leave the team. Consequently, Beast Boy was welcomed back as a member once again.

Jayna, who was previously a member of the Teen Titans superhero team on the show “Teen Titans Go!”, is no longer an official part of the group now.

George Washington

In an unexpected turn of events, the very first president of the United States of America, George Washington, found himself joining the ranks of the Teen Titans in the animated series Teen Titans Go!. Surprisingly, he didn’t just join as a regular member but stepped up to lead the team. When it came time to choose a new leader, Washington was transported from the past and eventually outsmarted Robin, earning the title of Leader of the Teen Titans.

In other words, he was not a regular team member but appeared prominently in select few exceptional episodes.

Nibor

In the animated series, “Teen Titans Go!”, Nibor assumes Robin’s position as the head of the Teen Titans, with Robin leading the Bizarro squad instead, a group that mirrors Nibor in every way – even their names are reversed of each other.

Nevertheless, the Bizzaros have no interest in Robin, much like the Teen Titans, and thus they quarrel over his possession. In the end, Robin rejoins the Teen Titans, while Nibor returns to the Bizarro group.

Red Raven

Among Raven’s five distinct identities born from her division by the Enigmatic Prism, Red Raven was chosen. When Robin and Green Cyborg aimed to assemble an improved iteration of the Teen Titans, they opted for Red Raven to join their ranks.

Ultimately, she found herself once more within the enigmatic Prism, for it drew her back in after Robin attempted to fragment his identity, thereby concluding her tenure as part of the team.

Red Starfire

Much like Raven had her personality fragmented by Robin for the sake of assembling an optimal Teen Titans team, Starfire underwent a similar process, leading to the emergence of Red Starfire who, albeit temporarily, became part of the Teen Titans roster.

To clarify, after I attempted to divide myself into separate identities, the usual Starfire reappeared once more.

Yellow Beast Boy

It’s worth noting that once more, the Yellow Beast Boy emerged following the division of the individual identities of the Teen Titans, a process brought about by the enigmatic Prism.

Yellow Beast Boy represented Beast Boy’s boring personality and was also known as the Human Shield.

When Robin separated himself, it simultaneously returned Yellow Beast Boy to the Enigmatic Prism, leaving only the standard Beast Boy behind.

Green Cyborg

Initially, among the Teen Titans, it was Cyborg whose character underwent a division, resulting in the emergence of Green Cyborg. Impressed by this enhanced version of Cyborg, Robin employed Green Cyborg to modify the remaining team members, giving them new personas.

In a similar fashion, Green Cyborg was once again transported into the Enigmatic Prism, thereby causing the genuine Cyborg to rejoin the team.

Santa Claus

Santa Claus took an intriguing turn of events in the cartoon series, Teen Titans Go!. Initially portrayed as a foe because he had placed the Teen Titans on his naughty list, surprisingly, Santa ended up becoming part of the team in one episode.

In that particular episode, it was Cyborg, Starfire, and Raven who departed from the Titans, allowing Santa Claus and a few other characters to step in and take their places temporarily.
