2025 finds us amidst a critical climate crisis, global conflicts intensifying, and divisive political decisions being made across the globe. However, there’s no need to despair as Cygames Inc, a brilliant developer, has just launched an enchanting racing game featuring magical girls on Steam and mobile platforms, and I simply can’t get enough of it!
Umamusume: Pretty Derby presents characters who are a mix of girls and horses – they have horse ears instead of being human girls who like horses. Your goal is to make friends with them, train them, and compete in races against each other. Despite its unconventional premise, it manages to be engaging and fun.
It’s quite fulfilling to select your preferred Umamusume character, collaborate with her to reveal her hidden racing prowess, and then eagerly observe as she dashes across the racetrack, aiming to win the championship title.
As you advance in the game, the challenges in the races become more intense, and the risks escalate. Maintaining the energy levels of your team members can be a delicate act, and deciding which of their attributes to prioritize for improvement calls for strategic planning that might rival even the most complex strategy games.
It appears that “Umamusume: Pretty Derby” is an animated series similar to itself, and although I haven’t watched it personally, its quirky anthropomorphic animal girls have provided me with numerous entertaining hours, making it a likely addition to my viewing list.
