It’s possible that multiple wrestlers could appear in the forthcoming Street Fighter film, as Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes might face each other for a second time.
According to recent reports from Nexus Point News, it appears that Rhodes could potentially take on the role of Guile in the forthcoming Street Fighter film. In the past, Jean-Claude Van Damme played this character in the 1994 Street Fighter movie.
According to reports, it hasn’t been officially verified yet by Legendary, the production company behind the movie. The film is set to be helmed by Kitao Sakurai, known for directing Bad Trip, and Dalan Musson, who wrote Captain America: Brave New World, has recently drafted the latest version of the script.
Who are WWE stars Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes playing in the Street Fighter movie?
In the upcoming Street Fighter movie, Reigns has been cast as Akuma. As for Guile, Rhodes is expected to take on the role, if he formally agrees to do so.
In his career, Rhodes hasn’t only had one significant role in Hollywood. Additionally, he’s been confirmed for the new Naked Gun remake alongside Liam Neeson. The most recent trailer features him as well.
The remaining actors boast a high-profile lineup. Noah Centineo and Andrew Koji take on the roles of Ken and Ryu respectively, with Jason Momoa, 50 Cent, and Andrew Schulz also joining the cast.
Absolutely, WWE enthusiasts are well-versed in the history between Reigns and Rhodes. In a remarkable turn of events that unfolded during the same weekend Rhodes made his comeback to WWE in 2022, Reigns emerged victorious over Brock Lesnar, thus unifying the WWE and Universal Championships to claim the title of Undisputed WWE Champion.
In the year 2023, Rhodes triumphed in the Royal Rumble, securing a title fight at WrestleMania 39 as a result. At this championship contest, Rhodes took on Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Championship, but the outcome was marred by controversy.
In about a year, Rhodes intends to reconstruct himself. He managed to win the Royal Rumble again in 2024, which sets up another match against Reigns at WrestleMania 40.
At the grand event of WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Rhodes completed his tale by claiming the Undisputed WWE Championship. For an impressive span of 378 days, he proudly carried the title. Eventually, he lost it to John Cena at WrestleMania 41, making him a historic 17-time world champion.
After dropping my crown, I managed to snatch the King of the Ring trophy. Now, I’ve got another shot at a title match, and it looks like I’ll be going toe-to-toe with Cena at SummerSlam.
Currently, Reigns is taking a break from WWE. Since his defeat at WrestleMania 41 against Seth Rollins, he hasn’t been around much. In that event, he battled both Rollins and CM Punk in a three-way contest.
