Ironheart finale showed Mephisto’s terrifying true form and you missed it

In the latest Ironheart episode, we were introduced to one of Marvel’s strongest antagonists ever – Mephisto, portrayed by Sacha Baron Cohen. The climax even offered a glimpse of his actual appearance.

Recall when the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) reintroduced its small-screen realm with WandaVision. Given his link to the Scarlet Witch, many assumed Mephisto, who can be thought of as Marvel’s equivalent of the Devil, played a role in the series.

However, it was not until Agatha All Along that he didn’t appear in the franchise, and his name wasn’t mentioned either. Now, Kevin Feige and his team have successfully found a role for him.

In the final act, it’s disclosed that Mephisto met with Parker, offering him a magical cloak along with promises of vast, unclean wealth. Furthermore, he converses significantly with Riri in a crucial moment towards the end. If you didn’t give it a second glance initially, I recommend revisiting this part as it holds great importance.

The real Mephisto appears on a spoon in the Ironheart finale

In episode 6 of Ironheart, at around the 27-minute and 42-second mark, Mephisto can be spotted stirring his coffee. When he lifts the spoon, his sinister red figure, much like his comic book likeness, becomes visible.

It’s clear there’s plenty of excitement among those who caught a glimpse of it, but fans are also showing some frustration that we didn’t get to see more, especially considering the years of speculation. One Twitter user put it this way: “After ALL THAT TIME, you show us Demon form in a spoon?

For three years, Mephisto has been teased across various Marvel shows… yet he is introduced into Ironheart, leaving viewers wondering if we’ll see his demon form. Regrettably, all that’s shown is a reflection of him in a spoon, providing a rather underwhelming reveal.

1st user: “I was speechless seeing Mephisto’s image in the spoon, knowing full well what was next.”

2nd user: “At long last, Mephisto, my lord of hell, has entered the MCU following the WandaVision rumor. I was so overwhelmed that I didn’t even notice his reflection in the spoon, oh my!

It’s clear that Riri struck a bargain with Mephisto to resurrect Natalie by the story’s end. However, what led to Ironheart being selected as the character for Mephisto’s grand entrance remains unclear.

Chinaka Hodge, the show’s creator, shared with Entertainment Weekly that she wishes she could explain it more simply. However, she made clear that her decision wasn’t made in isolation.

In essence, Marvel granted me the authority to make that particular choice. As for the future, I’m uncertain about the character or Sasha’s role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). However, as a fan, I eagerly anticipate seeing more of him.
