After facing criticism regarding the ‘Beerio Kart’ event, Ludwig Ahgren has now spoken out on the issue following the ban of professional Super Smash Bros. player Mang0 from Twitch due to his behavior during the competition while intoxicated.
On the 21st of June, I got super excited about Ludwig’s ‘Beerio Kart’ extravaganza, a fun twist on Mario Kart for the Switch 2! In this unique gaming experience, participants like me had to down their drinks before we could even think about crossing the finish line. If we didn’t, well, let’s just say it wasn’t pretty – disqualification was the price to pay for being a little too thirsty!
During the event, with many prominent streamers present, Smash Bros player Mang0 became the center of attention when he had too much to drink and disrespectfully approached female content creators who were participating in the activities.
After a rapid succession of criticism, Mang0 found himself barred from Twitch and dismissed by his esports team, Cloud9. Since that time, he has issued several heartfelt apologies via X, expressing his personal battles with alcohol.
He admitted, “Most of my troubles seem to originate from excessive drinking. I understand it might appear as if I’m merely trying to preserve a good image, but the truth is, I deeply regret it… I aim to make amends for my actions in the future.
It appears that C9 has let me go, which may lead to tournament bans. This is really unfortunate, and I can’t help but feel angry. Despite having so much potential, it seems I let things slip away from me. I might be out of touch for a while, and I apologize to everyone. I wish I could have been better, but I had the ability and seemingly wasted it.

Ludwig has faced criticism following the event, as many online users have accused him of permitting Mang0 to drink excessively without intervening earlier.
Ludwig gives update on Mang0 after Twitch ban
In a Twitch broadcast on July 1st, Ludwig discussed the current state of affairs and mentioned that he had a conversation with Mang0, who requested him to keep quiet regarding the Super Smash Bros. Brawl incident (also known as the Beerio Kart ordeal).
Ludwig mentioned, “We discussed briefly, but he requested I hold my thoughts and opinions for now. I believe his wish is reasonable, as he expressed a desire to handle it himself by saying, ‘I want to deal with it directly.’
In a subsequent comment, the streamer made it clear that Mang0 has commenced a “sober day one” and is currently bonding with his loved ones. However, he also addressed those who voiced their worries about Mang0 out of care.
People may hold a certain image of Mang0, but it’s clear that their interest in him isn’t heartfelt. I believe many won’t join his live streams once he starts streaming again… It seems more like a superficial conversation about Mang0 from those who claim to represent him.
I excluded him from attending my events due to the discomfort expressed by my girlfriend and her friend Maya at one of my events. This happened late at night. I believe many people are asking me to acknowledge my role in this situation, and I have already spoken out about it. If others choose not to associate with me after this, that’s perfectly fine.
Ludwig, too, seemed puzzled about why Mang0 was banned from Twitch instead of himself, for hosting the event. He further emphasized Mang0’s preference for resolving matters discreetly, away from the public spotlight.
Ludwig recently spoke out on his Beerio Kart stream about the current topic. In June, he shared his disappointment over the public’s reaction, describing it as “a bit disheartening how the spectators behave, since they often lack subtlety.
