Every Spider-Man film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe features the title character gaining allies for crime-fighting, and this trend continues with Spider-Man: Brand New Day, scheduled for release on July 31, 2026. The Punisher, or Frank Castle, is expected to join the big screen and possibly advise Peter Parker on handling villains more sternly.
If Peter finds himself at odds with The Punisher’s demeanor, it might be wise for him to explore alternative possibilities as we approach the upcoming fifth Spider-Man film. Remember, the Marvel Cinematic Universe boasts numerous other heroes who would jump at the chance to team up with Spider-Man for a few action-packed hours.
MCU Characters That Should Team Up With Spider-Man in the Future
Moon Knight
Regrettably, it seems that another season of “Moon Knight” may not be forthcoming after the explosive events in its first finale. Additionally, progress on a potential team-up project featuring Marvel Cinematic Universe’s mystical characters, known as the Midnight Sons, remains slow.
Marc Spector, although he may seem to linger indefinitely, has a knack for not staying idle. His various personas – Mr. Knight and Jake Lockley among them – ensure that those around him remain active and engaged, as there’s never a lack of excitement when they appear on the scene.
In the comic books, Moon Knight shares an extensive backstory with Spider-Man. It’s only fitting that these two characters cross paths in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Therefore, it is crucial for the decision-makers to remember Moon Knight when planning future MCU projects.
Echo
Similar to the Punisher, Maya Lopez navigates a distinct realm contrasting that of Spider-Man. Her journey begins under Wilson Fisk, who ultimately takes the life of her father. This tragic event drives her to pursue vengeance against her former mentor.
In a crunch, Maya opted against succumbing to hate and employed her recently gained abilities to mend Fisk’s fractured psyche instead. Regrettably, her attempts were unsuccessful because of the happenings in “Daredevil: Born Again,” but that doesn’t imply she should cease being a hero.
As a fellow movie enthusiast, I’d say it’s clear that Maya could greatly benefit from learning under the wing of none other than Spider-Man. This guy consistently stands up for what’s right, and I firmly believe that having Peter Parker as her mentor in the next “Spider-Man” installment would not only enrich his character but also foster a beautiful friendship between him and Echo.
Kate Bishop
Among the many characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s hard to find someone who admires the Avengers as much as Peter does. But after getting acquainted with Clint Barton in the series “Hawkeye”, Kate Bishop might just give him a tough competition when it comes to admiration for the Avengers.
At the finale of “The Marvels“, it appears that Kamala Khan enlists Kate, potentially foreshadowing the emergence of the Young Avengers (keep up with the team’s formation in the MCU). However, as the group is still under construction, there’s a chance that Kate may bump into Peter while socializing in New York City.
Kate won’t refuse an opportunity to assist others, and Peter could greatly benefit from her abilities. Though it might seem like a decrease in status compared to The Punisher and Doctor Strange, Kate possesses the capability to have just as profound an effect as they do.
Daredevil
It seems unlikely that The Punisher will team up with Spider-Man before Daredevil has a chance to do so. Interestingly, Matt Murdock extends his legal help to Peter Parker following Mysterio’s revelation of Spider-Man’s true identity.
To rectify the situation, let’s create a joint adventure featuring Spider-Man and Daredevil in which they collaborate to confront a menacing adversary like Fisk, who poses a threat to New York City.
It’s been quite some time since Daredevil has had a chance to shine in theaters, and we can’t keep waiting for “Born Again” to run its course forever. At some point, Kevin Feige and his team will surely realize the potential of this eagerly awaited collaboration and make it a reality.
Shang-Chi
In the “Brand New Day” storyline, Spider-Man is learning street wisdom from Punisher, yet he feels most at ease when tackling global catastrophes. On the other hand, Shang-Chi effortlessly handles such perils, as demonstrated by his defeat of a dragon in his 2021 standalone film.
Currently, it seems that Shang-Chi and his Legends of the Ten Rings sequel isn’t yet set in stone, meaning his character hasn’t been confirmed for any projects aside from Avengers: Doomsday. Being part of a Marvel Cinematic Universe event film is significant for Simu Liu’s character, but it’s unlikely that he will be the central figure in this movie.
It turns out that the director of “Shang-Chi,” Daniel Destin Cretton, is taking on another project, titled “Brand New Day.” I have high hopes for this 2026 film, and if it succeeds, he might just invite his old friend back for another thrilling escapade.
