Ubisoft’s flagship shooter series is set to return no time soon. There are fresh reports about the new Ghost Recon

Fans of the Ghost Recon series can look forward to new developments, as per insider Tom Henderson at InsiderGaming. The journalist reports that the upcoming game in the series, codenamed Ovr, is expected to enter its internal alpha testing phase this fall and may hit the market in the second half of 2026.

The initial version of a novel milestone system for large games being developed by Ubisoft is intended to be rolled out by their development teams. In May, it was announced that the release dates of some major titles would be postponed, except for the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, which is scheduled for launch in 2026.

The source of information regarding the potential release date for “Ghost Recon: Ovr” is Henderson’s report. According to his findings, the development period from the internal alpha stage to the final version might span around 12 months, suggesting a possible fall 2026 launch. However, it remains uncertain whether this timeline will be met as planned.

It’s intriguing to note that reports suggest the company will unveil authentic content for the upcoming Ghost Recon title next year. This revelation is expected at the Ubisoft Forward event, which unfortunately had to be postponed this year. Initial reports indicate that the game is rumored to take place in Southeast Asia.

Don’t forget! The current sale on the latest game in the series, Breakpoint, on Steam is still going strong. Purchase the game for only $11.99 (normally priced at $59.99) until July 10th. This is an excellent chance to test out this shooter before the next installment drops.
