The Devil Wears Prada Sequel Is In Fashion

For the last 19 years, we’ve yearned for a Chanel comeback, and finally, it seems our prayers have been answered – a sequel to the iconic movie “The Devil Wears Prada” from 2006 is officially in production! Costumes are prepared, cameras are rolling, Anne Hathaway may well be in her trailer getting back into character as Andy Sachs… Runway Magazine’s office is buzzing once more, and it’s printing pages like there’s no tomorrow. Here’s a rundown of what we know about the upcoming sequel, including when filming started.

Who’s back in the office?

In the upcoming sequel, Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci will once again grace our screens with their performances from the original movie. Ken Branagh enters the scene as Miranda Priestly’s spouse. Previously, we left the editorial department with Priestly (Streep) maintaining her position as Editor-in-Chief, Andy (Hathaway) starting a new gig at a newspaper, Emily (Blunt) holding onto her job at Runway, and Nigel (Tucci) doing the same. Here’s to hoping someone secures a promotion in this new story!

Wait, what is the sequel going to be about?

According to Variety, the sequel appears to focus on the deterioration of the magazine publishing industry and its impact on Priestly’s career. In this storyline, Priestly confronts Emily who has ascended to a prominent executive position within an advertising agency. Beyond these details, the rest of the plot remains undisclosed (or at least unknown to us).

Have they started filming yet?

20th Century Studios announced on June 30 that they’ve commenced work on the follow-up film. The original directors, David Frankel, and writers, Aline Brosh McKenna, are rejoining for this new project.

When does it come out?

The Devil Wears Prada 2 comes out on May 1, 2026. A new movie for spring? Groundbreaking.
