At FuelFest 2025, held in California on June 28, Vin Diesel unexpectedly announced that the eleventh and concluding installment of the Fast & Furious series is set to premiere in cinemas during April 2027.
Additionally, he revealed a significant piece of information regarding the upcoming movie. He shared that he intends to collaborate with Universal Studios, provided that the character Brian O’Conner, last portrayed by the late Paul Walker in 2015’s Furious 7, reappears to share scenes again with Dom.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio asked Vin if they could have the final Fast & Furious movie in April 2027, and he responded with three conditions. Firstly, he wanted the franchise to be set back in L.A. Secondly, he requested a return to the street racing aspect of the car culture.
Indeed, that’s great! You’d be interested to know about the third important detail, right? Well, let me tell you, the third crucial aspect will be bringing Dom and Brian O’Conner back together. That’s what you can expect in the final episode,” Vin Diesel, who portrays Dominic “Dom” Toretto in the series, hinted, based on circulating social media clips.
It’s uncertain if Brian will be featured in the upcoming movie, but with advancements in computer-generated imagery (CGI) and artificial intelligence (AI), studios have been known to incorporate deceased actors like Peter Cushing in recent films, such as in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” from 2016.
Walker tragically died at the age of 40 in a vehicle collision on November 30, 2013.
Upon his passing, he hadn’t finished shooting the movie “Furious 7.” Due to rewrites and the use of computer-generated imagery (CGI), visual effects (VFX) and his brothers, Cody, co-founder of FuelFest, and Caleb, as stand-ins, they were able to include his character in the film.
In 2015, Walker and his character received an emotional send-off at the end of Furious 7.
At a poignant juncture, Brian arrives alongside Dom, as Charlie Puth and Wiz Khalifa’s song “See You Again” – composed especially for this memorable occasion – fills the air.
As I watched you drive away without a word, I found myself asking, “Did you really think you could just go without bidding farewell?” That question hung in the air as we reminisced on our shared moments, replaying scenes of laughter and camaraderie that spanned the years. Eventually, we parted ways, heading off in opposite directions. But deep within me, I whispered, “You’ll forever remain by my side, and you’ll always be my brother.” This sentiment echoed softly as a voice-over, captured in the montage of our lives.
On the 3rd of April, 2015, Furious 7 hit the screens worldwide. This movie raked in more than $1.5 billion at the global box office, earning it the title of the most financially successful film in its series.
The Most Ridiculous Fast & Furious Moments
10. Dom Is Brought Back to Life By the Power of Love
In the film “Furious 7”, Dom suffers a severe car accident and seems to perish for approximately 2 minutes. Conventional medical methods such as chest compressions and CPR prove ineffective. However, after his friends cease performing CPR, Dom’s soulmate Letty merely talks to him about her love for him, which miraculously revives him. His deep affection for his family allows him to conquer death with an indomitable spirit — almost as if a bottle of Corona could have brought him back to life in this absurdly dramatic scenario.
9. After Being a Terrible Cop, Brian Gets a Job With the FBI
In the movie “The Fast and the Furious,” Brian O’Conner is an undercover police officer who develops such affection for his target that he assists in his escape from custody. In “2 Fast 2 Furious,” Brian finds himself jobless and residing in Miami, where he’s presented with an opportunity to take down a drug dealer. He does manage to do so, but he also ends up walking away with stacks of ill-gotten drug money. Despite being a questionable police officer, Brian is back on the force in “Fast & Furious,” now working for the FBI – even earning a promotion! However, at the end of this film, instead of letting Dom escape, Brian goes one step further and personally orchestrates his breakout from prison. Fool me once, shame on you, as the saying goes…
This version maintains the original’s tone and meaning while using slightly different phrasing to make it more natural and easy to read.
8. Dom Lifts a Car With His Bare Hands
In the iconic scene from “Furious 7,” the Fast Family performs a daring stunt involving a Lykan HyperSport car, leaping it between skyscrapers. Notably, Dom is depicted lifting this 3,000-pound vehicle using only his bare hands. While Dom’s character on Fandom.com is labeled as having “Peak Human Strength,” this may be an understatement, as no known human possesses such strength in reality. (And if you found that implausible, wait until you see the even more outlandish version of this stunt in “Fast X” without any spoilers!)
7. Jason Statham, Villain Of Fast 7, Rescues Dom’s Baby From Terrorists In a Mid-Air Shootout
In the title of this piece, everything about it is utterly bizarre! After spending the entirety of “Furious 7” attempting to kill anyone who has ever crossed paths with Dominic Toretto, Jason Statham’s character Deckard Shaw shifts gears in “The Fate of the Furious.” Instead of causing havoc, he saves his own infant son from terrorists. This is quite surprising given that Shaw and Owen Shaw, last seen trying to wreak havoc on Dom’s family in “Fast & Furious 6,” manage to board Cipher’s plane while it was already airborne! They then seize control of the jet and eliminate Cipher’s henchmen.
In the previous movie, Shaw brutally murdered Dom’s longtime companion Han. However, here, Dom places his trust in Shaw enough for him to save his baby boy – and Shaw even cracks jokes about dirty diapers while simultaneously shooting down bad guys! As a wise man once said: “The movies.
6. The Fast Five Vault Chase
Fast Five conceived a brilliantly outlandish concept: A heist film where instead of burglarizing a bank vault for the money, you’d actually make off with the entire vault during the escape, towed between two cars while using it as a weapon to crash into police cars or obstacles. It was absolutely wild and provided a breathtaking climax for the best Fast movie up until that point. Initially, this idea seemed preposterously unbelievable in a film about street racers. Today, Dom careening his Charger off a dam to outrun an explosion is just another ordinary day’s work.
5. A Chase Across the Longest Runway on the Entire Planet
The initial attempt by Fast & Furious to surpass the thrilling chase scene from Fast Five occurred in the subsequent sequel, when Dom and his team are tasked with preventing a massive cargo plane from taking off. Towards the end of this extended action sequence, cars can be seen hanging from the plane’s wings, followed by a massive explosive crash. However, it’s important to note that the entire scene unfolds on a single runway, which is highly implausible as no runway on Earth would be long enough for such a scenario to take place realistically. In fact, calculations suggest that the runway would need to stretch at least 26 miles in length – far beyond the longest runway on our planet, which spans only about three and a half miles.
4. Han Returns From the Dead … Again
From his initial introduction in “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift,” Han’s character, portrayed by Sung Kang, was destined for a tragic end. However, director Justin Lin held such affection for Han that he resurrected him in “Fast & Furious” as part of Dom’s crew, despite killing him off in “Tokyo Drift.” This unexpected turnout was due to the fact that “Fast & Furious” actually occurred before the events of “Tokyo Drift.”
Han’s popularity among fans was so immense that Lin brought him back for two more appearances before the Fast timeline reconnected with Han’s original demise. By this point, Han had become a beloved figure, and social media users demanded “justice” for his character. This call was answered in “F9: The Fast Saga,” where it was revealed that Han’s second death was a ruse.
In summary, Han made his debut, met an untimely end, returned to life, lived again for some time, died a second time, vanished, and then reappeared once more. So, one might wonder what such an enigmatic character does on a peaceful Saturday night at home?
3. Vin Diesel Beats Jason Statham With an Earthquake
In the finale of Fast & Furious 7, Deckard Shaw and Dom engage in a fierce fight. However, their battle is abruptly halted when a helicopter launches a missile attack on them, causing the multi-story parking garage they’re fighting on to start collapsing. Remarkably, Dom remains unscathed. As the structure weakens, he stamps his foot once, triggering an earthquake that specifically targets Shaw. The ground beneath him gives way, sending him tumbling down to the level below. This scene suggests that Vin Diesel’s character has the ability to manipulate and direct seismic activities, utilizing this power to eliminate his adversary. In a show of style, he even assumes a cool crouch position at the edge of the cracked pavement.
2. Dom and Letty Swing a Car on a Rope Like Spider-Man
Each Fast film strives to surpass its predecessors in a unique manner. In the movie “F9”, this feat involves Dom (and Letty) traversing an enormous gap using a muscle car, not by jumping but by swinging like Spider-Man. Somehow, Dom’s vehicle ends up with one of the bridge’s wires trapped beneath its chassis, providing support as it swings across. In what reality does that make sense? It’s utterly bizarre. Yet, it’s also incredibly entertaining! But, undeniably, it’s a bit too far-fetched.
1. A Car In Space
In a series of unexpected twists, fans’ humorous queries about “Fast & Furious” venturing into space have finally been answered. In 2021, characters Roman and Tej attached an enormous engine to the roof of an old sedan, transforming it into a “rocket car”. This space-bound vehicle crashed into an evil satellite, causing destruction but ultimately saving the world.
The absurdity didn’t end there; after that, Roman and Tej, wearing what seemed like antique scuba diver suits, floated over to the International Space Station. The movie doesn’t explain how they managed to return home, but somehow they made it back in time for the Toretto family barbecue. There, Dom and his companions expressed gratitude for the incredible madness that continues to be the “Fast & Furious” series.
