For nearly 4 decades, Double Dragon has been a standout title within the beat-em-up genre. The latest installment, Double Dragon Revive, is scheduled for release in October, serving as a reimagining of the original game. In this version, Marian, Billy’s girlfriend, gets kidnapped. Interestingly, preordering Double Dragon Revive will grant you early access to another game: Double Dragon Dodgeball, which will also be available later in 2023.
In this vintage pixel-art mini-game, the team known as Sou-Setsu-Ken (comprising Billy, Jimmy, and their companions) battle it out in a dodgeball competition to save Marian once more. For a brief glimpse of the action, have a look at the video below.
Previously, the Lee brothers have made their mark in sports-related ventures. Avid Double Dragon enthusiasts may recall Super Spike V’ball for the NES, featuring Billy and Jimmy as playable characters. Additionally, there was an arcade version of WWF Superstars where Billy was part of the crowd, albeit not getting a chance to challenge Hogan for the title.
