How to prepare for the Terraria Moon Lord in Palworld
In Palworld, the Moon Lord operates much like other raid opponents. For beginners in raiding, it’s crucial to construct a Summoning Shrine at one of your outposts. This is the location where you engage with all the game’s raid bosses.
At tech level 32 under Ancient Technology, you can acquire the Summoning Altar. To construct it, gather these required resources:
- 100 Stone
- 20 Palidum Fragments
It’s advisable to establish a unique stronghold specifically for raids. Simultaneously, you can maintain up to three active bases. I typically allocate one of these bases exclusively for raids because bosses can inflict significant structural damage. This could either be a base with no crucial constructions or one that offers sufficient space to reinforce the vicinity of the Summoning Altar using walls. By doing this, you reduce the amount of damage your main structures endure during boss battles. If there are any operational helpers at this base, remember to position them within the Palbox to ensure they avoid Moon Lord’s attacks.
You’ll also need a Celestial Sigil to summon the Moon Lord to you Summoning Altar.
How to get a Celestial Sigil

In this new secret dungeon inspired by Terraria, you can acquire a blueprint for a Celestial Sigil upon defeating the Eye of Cthulhu boss and claiming its chest rewards. Once obtained, guide your helpers to craft the Celestial Sigil at one of the production lines within your base using 100 Hallowed bars as material.
Hallowed bars
In the fresh Terraria locale, holy-like bars can be discovered within the treasure chests of dungeons as well. Once you’ve conquered a dungeon, you’ll likely amass an abundance of these bars, enough to craft one or two sigils easily.
Every time you plan on battling Moon Lord, you’ll have to create a fresh Celestial Seal. Keep in mind that these seals can only be used once.
Fighting Moon Lord in Palworld
The Moon Lord is a formidable foe at level 50, boasting health points exceeding four hundred thousand. To defeat him effectively, it’s best to employ ranged attacks. The rocket launcher and guided missile launcher are particularly useful in this battle. Stockpile plenty of ammunition for these weapons, ensure you have some healing potions on hand, and if feasible, engage the Moon Lord with companions by your side.
It’s advisable to hold off from trying this until you reach at least level 55, or collaborate with more experienced players. As a reminder, I was level 52 wearing the top-tier gear I could make, but even then, Moon Lord defeated me on my initial attempt.
He has three vulnerable areas that require attention: an eyeball on each hand, and an eye located at the center of his forehead.

Vanquishing the Moon Lord may yield a variety of random loot, including Ancient Civilization Cores, Ancient Civilization Parts, pendants, skill-enhancing fruits, legendary weapons, and armor pieces.
Different from most other bosses in the game, catching the Moon Lord isn’t possible, and you won’t receive an egg to hatch. It remains unclear whether this is due to a technical issue (a bug) or if the Moon Lord is unique as a special Terraria-themed boss that can’t be obtained.
