As a gamer, I’ve found myself in some nail-biting situations while playing Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, but the latest free update has taken the tension to a whole new level! The new PvE game mode – Siege Mode – pits three of us against an unending horde of Tyranid and Thousand Sons. Our mission? Defend an imperial fortress as long as we can. This isn’t just a battle; it’s the fight of our lives!
In Siege Mode, a complete victory might not be achievable, but players possess means to endure the assault. By overcoming each wave of adversaries, they gather points which can then be spent on items such as Medicae Stimms for healing, additional ammunition and gear, or even summoning aid from Cadian regiments and Dreadnoughts.
After completing five rounds of defending a part of the fortress, players will be transferred to another section of the facility, with the cycle starting anew. Players may opt to exit and gather Requisition Points, Armory Data, and XP, but sticking it out to the end typically results in only one possible outcome.
Today, owners of season passes, those with the Ultra or Gold editions, will receive additional DLC content too. The White Scars Chapter Pack includes a fresh skin for the Assault class champion, along with weapon skins inspired by the White Scars, and new cosmetic options. Meanwhile, the Blood Angels Cosmetic Pack offers three new armor pieces suitable for any of the game’s playable classes. This pack also boasts a collection of heraldry symbols and rank markings honoring eight of the Blood Angels’ Successor Chapters.
Sega just unveiled Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Master Crafted Edition, yet it won’t appear on PS5 at this time, instead focusing on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Game Pass. Last month, the developers at Saber Interactive made available modder-friendly tools for Space Marine 2 on PC. The popularity of Space Marine 2 has led to the confirmation that a third installment is being developed, though no release date has been set yet.
