As a gamer, I’ve noticed an interesting trick among rematch players – they’ve found that leaping into the sky instead of running can get them there faster, leading to some pretty amusing and goofy gameplay moments!
Rematch, similar to Rocket League, features easy-to-grasp controls that primarily include shooting, passing, controlling the ball, and defending. Despite their simplicity, these actions become intricate once combined into complex maneuvers.
Of course, it’s not a shocker that enthusiasts are brainstorming strategies to gain an edge against their rivals.
In an unusual twist, some players are leaping high into the air as a means to traverse the field swiftly.
“Goofy” Rematch meta has players jumping instead of running
In a game like Rematch, staying out of the wrong spot could mean losing the game, so you’ll often need to dash backward to safeguard your goal. However, should you run short on energy, you’ll only be able to move at your usual speed.
As a fan, I’ve noticed that if you repeatedly press the header button (Triangle, Y, or Space), you’ll soar into the air at an astonishing speed, faster than your regular run! Reddit user ‘Hiken_D’ has even posted a video showing this hilarious trick in action. It’s just as silly and entertaining as it sounds!
When I got counter-attacked, the footage reveals my team jumping around frantically, akin to salmon leaping upstream. Though we couldn’t prevent that goal, it’s clear that we managed to outrun most of the opposing players who were depending on standard sprints for speed.
Jumping being faster than running just doesn’t feel right

Although it may not appear elegant, this mechanism is incredibly practical, particularly when you’ve run out of energy and need to reach the ball before your rival does.
Although some find it amusing, numerous players have voiced their disapproval towards this maneuver and urged the developers to rectify it. This could potentially be addressed by implementing a stamina system for jumping, restricting its frequent use in quick succession, or making the stumble at the end decrease your speed.
Since Rematch was released, Sloclap continues to release frequent updates. Therefore, expect a resolution in the near future. Regardless, these updates haven’t dampened the enthusiasm for the game, with more than three million individuals already giving it a try.
