Today marks the release of the second downloadable content for WWE 2K25, titled the Dunk & Destruction Pack. This exciting addition introduces three NBA legends into the game: Shaquille O’Neal, Tyrese Haliburton from the Indiana Pacers, and Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks.
Over three decades, Shaquille O’Neal has maintained connections with wrestling through occasional appearances in WCW, a single backstage visit to TNA, and more recently, by participating in events like the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 32. Additionally, he teamed up with Cody Rhodes for a tag-team match during Rhodes’ tenure in AEW.
Neither Haliburton nor Brunson have engaged in wrestling matches within the WWE, but they did get into a heated exchange on WWE Smackdown. Moreover, Haliburton delivered an impressive performance during this year’s NBA playoffs until he sustained an Achilles tendon injury in game seven of the NBA Finals.
In addition to the main features in the Dunk & Destruction Pack, two more characters are being introduced: Abyss, a legendary figure from TNA who now works behind-the-scenes as a WWE producer, and The Great Khali, a hall of fame member from WWE. For those who have purchased either the WrestleMania 41 Pack or The Bloodline Edition, new characters include a robotic version of Cody Rhodes, Alexa Bliss’s Firefly Funhouse character, her Lily Doll, and Nikki Cross ’23. Moreover, WWE 2K25 is introducing fresh MyFACTION content, such as the Amethyst Token Market and a new Bloodline card pack, which will be released on June 26th.
Based on the WWE 2K25 season plan, three additional DLC packs are scheduled for release. The Fearless pack is due next month and will feature ECW legend New Jack, NXT’s Jordynne Grace, Penta, Bull Nakano, and an undisclosed celebrity guest. Following this in September, there’s the Attitude Era Superstars pack with D’Lo Brown, Billy Gunn, Road Dogg, Victoria, and Mark Henry. Lastly, the Saturday Night’s Main Event pack is set for release in November, bringing ’80s icons Jesse Ventura, Mr. Wonderful, Tito Santana, Junk Yard Dog, and Sid Justice to the game.
