50 Cent Certainly Seems Like He’s Joining Street Fighter Movie As A Beloved Character

50 Cent, who played the lead role in 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand, seems set to join the cast of the upcoming Street Fighter film. Hints from Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson suggest he’ll don blue boxing trunks and red gloves to embody the character Balrog.

Previously, Nexus Point News announced that talks were underway with Jackson regarding Street Fighter, which Jackson subsequently suggested on Instagram he had agreed to be part of. Recently, Callina Liang has signed up for the Street Fighter movie, taking on the role of Chun-Li. Other actors in the film include Jason Momoa and WWE wrestler Roman Reigns.

1. It’s not Jackson’s debut performance in video games; he was featured in two titles during the 2000s – 50 Cent: Bulletproof and Blood on the Sand, a game mentioned earlier. Similarly, Balrog made his appearance in Street Fighter 2, later becoming a playable character in Street Fighter 2: Champion Edition. Interestingly, Balrog is connected to M. Bison and originally went by that name. However, Capcom later altered the character’s name to Balrog.

Similarly, you might recognize Balrog from Street Fighter 2, where he eventually became playable in Champion Edition. It’s interesting to note that Balrog is associated with M. Bison, but his name was originally M. Bison; Capcom changed it to Balrog later on.

Sony Pictures has moved the release of Street Fighter from March 20, 2026, to an unspecified date after it was initially scheduled. However, progress is being made with casting for the film, as Kitao Sakurai, director of Bad Trip, joined the project earlier this year. This upcoming movie will be the third live-action adaptation of Street Fighter, following the 1994 original and 2009’s Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li.
