Collaborations don’t occur frequently, but when they do, they’re usually well-liked by everyone. This rule applies equally to Palworld, which has just rolled out a significant update named Tides of Terraria – a collaboration with Terraria. Among the numerous new elements (such as an innovative themed dungeon), fishing mechanics have also been integrated. However, some players are finding it challenging to grasp this new addition. Our guide on Palworld provides instructions on how to catch these new creatures.
How to start fishing in Palworld
As an enthusiastic gamer, I’ve discovered that before you can embark on your angling adventures and make some new fishing buddies, you’ll first need to unlock the “fishing” technology within the skill tree. You’ll find rods at tiers 15, 29, and 45. After that, it’s time to craft your very own rod, a step many players seem to struggle with. However, from what I’ve gathered from fellow gamers, the Beginner’s set can be found at a High quality workbench (level 11). On the other hand, advanced fishing rods are craftable only after acquiring Weapon Assembly Line II.
When you acquire a fishing rod, you’ll be able to (comfortably even if you’re perched on a pal) fling it into the water. Fishing is quite straightforward, involving a few steps. First, you should (ensure your fishing rod has everything needed), then pick some bait from your inventory. Once you find a spot where fish shadows are evident, prepare yourself for casting by clicking the right mouse button to ready the rod. After that, click the left mouse button to cast and begin fishing. When the float starts sinking, time your next click of the left mouse button just right to initiate the mini-game.
The goal of this mini-game is to maintain the position of the fish icon correctly. To do so, simply press and hold the left mouse button which will move the bar to the right. Once you release the button, the movement stops and goes back to the left. If you manage to fill the gauge completely, you’ll successfully catch your fish!
How to get Coralum Ore and other resources
Now, you’ll discover what are commonly known as “Salvage Spots” in the sea. These are unique locations where you can gather materials essential for weapon upgrades, like Coralum Ore. To do this, make sure you have a fishing rod, a level 61 technology magnet, and a water mount. It’s also beneficial to bring Jelliette along, as this companion “enhances the items obtained during fishing”.
