2025 Superman Movie Reveals 6 Iconic DC Locations You Can’t Miss!

Superman is planning to drop by some iconic spots that should resonate with DC Comics aficionados. Unlike Marvel who often gives a unique spin to actual places, the DC Universe is renowned for its distinctive locales. Crucially for Superman, his hometown of Metropolis serves as a base for his residence, work at the Daily Planet, and arch-nemesis Lex Luthor.

In July 2025, James Gunn’s Superman will take fans on a fresh journey through iconic DC locations that have been portrayed before. This reboot features a brand-new cast led by David Corenswet as Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, and an assortment of new superheroes including Anthony Carrigan’s Metamorpho, who will form the Justice Gang.

Superman Will Feature Over 6 Major DC Comics Locations

The main action of Superman is set to unfold primarily in the city of Metropolis. Notably, this upcoming film will revisit some well-known spots within Metropolis, the city synonymous with Superman, as well as other significant locations drawn from the rich tapestry of DC Comics history.

Previously, Gunn has led the DCU to thrilling and recurring destinations in “Creature Commandos,” including Gotham, Pokolistan, and Star City. Notably, the heroine Circe from Themyscira was also referenced, providing a connection to that iconic location.

Fortress of Solitude

In contrast to Batman’s Batcave, Superman possesses a remote stronghold known as the Fortress of Solitude. This icy fortification is typically found at either the North or South Pole. Inside, you’ll find Kryptonian technology and weaponry, as well as digital replicas of Kal-El’s family members. These virtual family members enable Superman to converse with them and seek their guidance whenever needed.

At the Fortress of Solitude, Superman can find tranquility to explore his Kryptonian roots and receive healing from advanced robots. However, this serene environment may not last forever, as previews hint that Lex Luthor might forcefully enter the arctic stronghold, possibly seeking an extraterrestrial artifact.

Daily Planet

In the world of DC Comics, The Daily Planet stands out as the most renowned newspaper, nestled in the heart of Metropolis. A gleaming golden globe soars above its skyline, serving as a symbol of this esteemed publication. Not only does this iconic building house Clark Kent, better known as Superman, but also key characters such as Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, and Perry White.

It seems that Metropolis’ renowned news organization is set to have a significant impact in the upcoming Superman movie, as key personnel from this outlet are set to appear, including Rachel Brosnahan portraying Lois Lane and an on-job rival to Clark Kent. This is expected to provide insights into the human side of the superhero, delving deeper into his everyday professional life.

Kent Farm

As a die-hard film buff, I can’t help but draw parallels between Clark Kent and the humble beginnings of many heroes – the small-town upbringing that shaped their destiny. Unlike most days spent in bustling Metropolis, young Clark’s life began on the Kent farm nestled in Smallville, Kansas, where his Kryptonian pod came to rest after the cataclysmic demise of his home planet. It was here that I imagine him being embraced by Ma and Pa Kent, who nurtured within him the values that would one day make him the iconic superhero we all know and admire.

In some capacity, Superman is expected to reappear at the Kent Farm, possibly during a low point in his journey when he’ll find the inspiration and guidance to resume his battles once more.

LexCorp

In the universe of DC Comics, LexCorp initially started off as an aeronautical engineering company. However, under the leadership of its founder and Superman’s nemesis, Lex Luthor, it diversified into numerous sectors such as baking, telecommunications, technology, retail (including supermarkets), among others.

Over time, the business run by the Luthor family has been known as both LexCorp and LuthorCorp. However, in the series Superman, the company will be referred to as LuthorCorp. In this storyline, actor Nicholas Hoult’s character, Lex Luthor, will leverage a billion-dollar corporation for his nefarious plans, and the LuthorCorp building serves as his base of operations for these schemes.

Stagg Industries

Stagg Industries is a research and development company established by DC Comics villain Simon Stagg, creator of the superhuman being Metamorpho. In a turn of events, Simon dispatched Rex Mason, after discovering his affection for his daughter Sapphire, to retrieve an Egyptian artifact imbued with transformative abilities.

In the preview, it appears that Superman might engage in a confrontation with members of the Justice League at Stagg Industries. This encounter could potentially occur due to connections between Anthony Carrigan’s character and his DC Universe hero, Metamorpho. It’s worth mentioning that Rex Mason seems to be captive in the trailers, and it’s possible he is taken from this location.

Boravia

In the world of DC Comics, though not widely recognized, Boravia is a nation in Europe that was once ravaged by civil conflict. This strife ended when Superman intervened and restored peace. First appearing in “Superman” #2, which hit stands 86 years ago in 1939.

It appears that DCU’s Superman might find himself under scrutiny by the public due to his involvement in a foreign country’s matters and prevention of a war. Some theories suggest this mysterious nation could be Boravia, which seems to have its own super-powered figure in the movie, as evidenced by the Hammer of Boravia being among the seven antagonists Superman will encounter.

Bonus: Meteors Stadium

The Metropolis Meteors, a team established in DC Comics back in 1973 with the catchphrase “Shoot for the stars,” are likely inspired by their local extraterrestrial superhero. Despite being part of DC’s history for several decades, their home stadium has never been depicted.

In the trailer, it appears that the situation changed when Superman, who is featured at the Meteor’s stadium, becomes involved in a battle against the enigmatic villain, Ultraman, and The Engineer, serving as the setting for the Man of Steel’s confrontation with this secret adversary.

Bonus: Phantom Zone (Speculated)
