Dev started working on his dream game in his bedroom eight years ago. He finally completed it – Len’s Island release was celebrated by thousands of fans

Recently, Len’s Island version 1.0 was launched on Steam. Given its intrigue, it’s advisable to explore it further. It’s a survival game set in an open world that’s procedurally generated, allowing you to play solo or team up with as many as eight players in cooperative mode. The perspective is from above, and aside from the common tasks like collecting resources, farming, and constructing buildings, it heavily focuses on battling monsters using a combat system reminiscent of the Diablo series.

It took game creator Julian Ball eight years in total to develop the project, with the final three years being spent on early access. Initially, he worked alone from his bedroom using a personal computer. But as the game gained popularity, he brought more team members aboard and eventually established an office dedicated to the development team.

Making our way to version 1.0 wasn’t a walk in the park, but seeing how much the players valued “Len’s Island” made every step worthwhile.

  1. On Steam, 85% of all reviews praise this title. However, counting only those issued since June 19 (the day of leaving early access), 80% are positive.
  2. The game also delivers impressive results, especially for such a small game, in terms of activity. Last weekend, Len’s Island set a new activity record with 15,912 players playing simultaneously.
