“I’m actually very intrigued to see it.” Gary Oldman is looking forward to the Harry Potter series from HBO Max, but he has bad news for fans

A fresh take on the Harry Potter books is currently in development. Instead of being turned into movies, this time it’s a television series that’s being produced, with an entirely new group of actors. This adaptation is anticipated to be truer to the original stories due to the fact that each season will focus on a single novel, allowing for more hours of content than a single film could provide.

Fans of “Harry Potter” may recognize Gary Oldman as Sirius Black. Similarly, he shares their excitement for the upcoming television show. In a conversation with Variety, he expressed his curiosity about what HBO Max has planned, since they will have the opportunity to present more in the series compared to the movies.

I’m actually very intrigued to see it because so much of the books were cut.

Regrettably, fans hoping to see Oldman in a fresh role within the series or any cast members from the movie may be disappointed. According to him, the creators of the Harry Potter TV series are unlikely to reintroduce characters from the original cast.

I believe it’s unlikely they’ll get close to those who were associated with the initial group.

Gary Oldman himself has voiced his interest in portraying Dumbledore, but acknowledges that it’s unlikely to materialize. Indeed, it seems the producers have no intention of rehiring actors who were part of the original Harry Potter series. Even the widely discussed idea of Tom Felton playing Lucius Malfoy’s role didn’t come to fruition. As previously confirmed, Johnny Flynn will be taking on the role of Lucius Malfoy’s son, Draco.
