It may appear that a developer would have finished their own game prior to making it available to the public, but this isn’t necessarily true. For example, the Balatro developer LocalThunk didn’t achieve 100% completion of the game until much later, even though it had already been launched over a year earlier.

In a recent post on Bluesky, LocalThunk shared their success in attaining the elusive Completionist++ achievement on Steam. Given Balatro’s intricate collection of jokers, decks, and internal benchmarks for completing different game modes, securing Completionist++ is no easy feat; as evidenced by LocalThunk’s screenshot, only a minuscule 0.1% of Balatro players have managed to reach this milestone.
