5 Mind-Blowing Questions That Could Change the Predator Franchise Forever!

heads up! the information ahead might reveal significant plot points from the movie “Predator: Killer of Killer”. It’s best to watch it first before reading further.

I’ve just finished watching “Predator: Killer of Killers“, a fresh animated series within the legendary sci-fi franchise. The 2025 film, available on Hulu for subscribers, consists of three tales centered around warriors from various time periods facing off against predators. After being captured, frozen in time, and then revived to fight as gladiator-like contestants for an alien species, they are eventually returned. If I’m candid, it’s quite enjoyable!

After examining director Dan Trachtenberg’s second installation in the Predator series (he also has Predator: Badlands coming up this year), I’ve found myself pondering over five intriguing points that just won’t leave my mind. From the survival of certain film characters to a hint at another formidable adversary, there are many aspects I need to delve into with this production.

On Hulu, you can try out their Ad-Supported or Ad-Free subscriptions for 30 days at no cost! These tiers grant access to all content on the platform, including the Predator series. This Isn’t The Last Of Kenji And John, Right?

As a die-hard movie enthusiast, in the concluding chapter of “Predator: Killer of Killers,” war aviator John J. Torres (portrayed by Rick Gonzalez) and 17th-century samurai Kenji Kamakami (Louis Ozawa) bravely defied the unfathomable odds, battling their captor predators for what seemed like an eternity – all made possible by the heroic self-sacrifice of viking warrior Ursa (Lindsay LaVanchy). Whether there’ll be a sequel to this exceptional Predator film or not, I can only hope and speculate that we may once again encounter these two resilient characters in future adventures.

The combination, truly exceptional, might result in fascinating interactions – perhaps with more dangerous creatures or elsewhere if they manage to break free from their planet (further details coming up). Witnessing their cooperation, despite not having a common language, was captivating in the series Killer of Killers, and I eagerly anticipate the further development of their relationship. Moreover, we’re curious to see how these two characters navigate through their ordeals, aren’t we?

Although I’m not overly optimistic about the outcomes of these two (or Ursa, recently returned to captivity), it remains to be seen how their narratives unfold in the future.

Even So, Where Will The Survivors Go After Their Escape?

In the closing scenes of Predator: Killer of Killers, we see the warlord dispatching a multitude of predators in various vessels, armed with an array of weapons, in pursuit of John and Kenji as they flee. This left me pondering one question: where on earth could our human heroes possibly escape to?

Initially, let’s discuss the ship they seized. Is it equipped for interstellar travel and can endure space conditions? If not, these two individuals find themselves stranded on an unfamiliar alien planet, far beyond Earth’s reach, and their chances of survival are minimal, especially if they fall into the hands of the aggressive war party.

As I ponder over this interstellar spectacle unfolding before my eyes, I find myself grappling with an intriguing question: What if our extraterrestrial adversary manages to break free from Earth’s gravitational clutches? The pressing issue becomes: Where do they intend to go, and how long will it take them to arrive at their destination?

Given the advanced technology displayed by these alien beings, it is not unreasonable to assume that their vessel is equipped with hyperspace travel capabilities – far beyond anything we’ve managed to develop here on our humble planet. But still, I cannot shake off the lingering doubt: Can a World War II pilot like John possibly decipher the secrets of this technologically superior craft?

Intriguing, isn’t it? The tension between human ingenuity and alien innovation is palpable in this cinematic journey. Stay tuned to find out how our hero fares against the odds!

When Does The Epilogue Take Place In The Predator Timeline?

While I was engrossed in “Predator: Killer of Killers,” I couldn’t help but speculate if the cunning anthology film featured time travel, allowing the iconic sci-fi characters to select warriors from various periods. However, my theory was debunked after reading an interview with co-director Joshua Wassung by The Direct, in which he clarified that they have been amassing a group of gladiators over a long period instead. This revelation led me to ponder: precisely where does this movie slot within the timeline of “Predator”?

From the third short film titled “The Bullet,” set in 1942, it’s clear that the Epilogue is at least in the 20th century. If it goes beyond this timeframe, it could potentially be contemporaneous with the original Predator movie (set in the late 20th century) or around the same era as the later films in the series (situated in the early 21st century).

From where I stand, it’s astonishing how these beings seem to outpace us technologically, given our history of technological advancement on Earth was supposedly far beyond theirs.

Does This Mean We’re Going To See Naru Again?

A memorable scene from the finale of “Predator: Killer of Killers” features a fleeting image of Naru, played by Amber Midthunder, who was also the lead in “Prey,” another film directed by Dan Trachtenberg. At the end of the 2022 movie, we left Naru, an impressive female character, and her tribe facing a group of predator airships after she had defeated her adversary and marked herself with his green blood on her face following the battle.

Even though it’s uncertain if there will be a new “Prey” film anytime soon, this glimpse at Naru in stasis state sparks various ideas for her potential comeback within the series. For instance, a sequel to “Killer of Killers” could bring her and other beloved characters back to life. Alternatively, a sequel could delve into Naru’s past, showing events that transpired before her capture on the alien planet.

And Finally, Is There A Chance We’ll See Dutch In A Gladiator Battle?

Given that every warrior depicted in ‘Predator: Killer of Killers’ had previously eliminated a Predator before being captured, it seems fitting that Alan “Dutch” Schaefer, one of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s iconic characters, would return to take on the challenge once more, much like he did back in 1987. Now, I can’t help but wonder if we’ll witness Dutch joining the fray as a gladiator, battling both humans and Predators on the aliens’ home planet.

In an alternate scenario, you might consider a brief introduction about Dutch, who was kidnapped by vicious creatures in the fictitious Central American nation of Val Verde, or perhaps after his return to the U.S., he was subsequently taken and thrust into deep space for combat. His emergence from the ice with the goal of returning home (and seeking revenge for the deaths of his comrades) is a narrative that essentially writes itself.

Time alone will reveal whether any of these queries get resolved, potentially leading us to discover “Predator: Killer of Killers.” Until then, there’s something exciting to anticipate – “Predator: Badlands” is coming soon!
