The popular Soulslike game “Lies of P,” developed by South Korean studio Round8, has reached a new sales record, leading publisher Neowiz to organize a company-wide celebration in honor of their dedicated team members.
2023 saw the debut of Lies of P, an imaginative reinterpretation of Carlo Collodi’s classic tale, The Adventures of Pinocchio. In this game, players assume the role of the titular puppet in a bleak, post-human world where humanity has largely vanished.
On June 20, 2025, the South Korean publication The Elec announced that by the time of Summer Game Fest 2025, Lies of P and its Overture DLC had collectively surpassed 3 million in sales.
2024 saw Neowiz reveal that Lies of P had amassed more than 7 million players globally. The difference between this number and actual sales is probably because the RPG is accessible via Microsoft’s Game Pass service, where played games aren’t counted as sales.
Lies of P was removed from Game Pass on March 15, 2025.
Hard work rewarded
Elec indicates that each member of the Lies of P team was rewarded for the game’s success. This includes an individual bonus of 10 million won (equivalent to $7,500 USD), two weeks of fully-paid time off, and a brand new Nintendo Switch 2 as part of their celebration.
