Rapper Bigxthaplug shuts down highway during rush hour to film music video

During rush hour in Dallas, Texas, rap artist Xavier ‘Bigxthaplug’ Landum unexpectedly closed a highway bridge to shoot a music video alongside Shaboozey, an unfortunate choice given the timing.

In 2022, rap artist Bigxthaplug gained nationwide acclaim, and since then, he’s been discussing the possibility of embarking on a country music venture alongside some of the most prominent figures within the genre.

In December 2024, he noted that artists such as Shaboozey, Morgan Wallen, and Luke Combs were scheduled to feature on his upcoming album.

As I’m sitting here, it seems like that game development project is really taking shape – though, man, it couldn’t have been more inconvenient that Landum decided to shoot his music video on a Dallas highway during peak rush hour!

The occurrence happened in Dallas, Texas, on Tuesday, June 17, specifically during the peak evening traffic period. This caused issues for commuters attempting to travel by highway since the bridge was impassable in one direction, creating a bottleneck effect.

According to the police, the production company securing permits allowed them to close the bridge for the shooting of their music video. However, since the opposite side of the bridge remained open for traffic, footage from the scene swiftly circulated on social networking sites.

The video that you see is for the forthcoming track titled “Highway Highway” from the artists Bigx and Shaboozey. They hinted at this song’s release back in June.

“I didn’t know you could rent a bridge, but that’s cool,” one user commented on a video.

Another individual commented: “I spent more than an hour commuting to work today, as the city was congested due to rush hour traffic on a typical workday.

“Yeah, had me in traffic for an hour!!” shared a third.

Shaboozey, who collaborated with the well-known country artist Bigx, gained widespread popularity on TikTok with his popular tune “A bar song”. The catchy melody was also incorporated as a feature, known as an emote, within the game Fortnite.
