Blood Message: NetEase’s New AAA Single-Player Project Revealed

24 Entertainment, known for creating Naraka: Bladepoint in partnership with NetEase Games, has revealed a new title called Blood Message. This is their first single-player “AAA” game experience. The story takes place during the waning years of the Tang Dynasty, where the player guides an unnamed messenger and his child on a 1,000 mile trek to Chang’an, the epicenter of the Tang Empire.

NetEase indicates that players will encounter an immersive narrative with a focus on cinematic storytelling, featuring intense combat sequences combining stealth and survival elements. The game’s landscapes are designed to replicate East and Central Asian regions. Fundamentally, Blood Message revolves around the depiction of ordinary individuals who become significant figures in history, acting as unsung heroes. The narrative primarily concentrates on a father-son duo, who struggle to maintain their bond while facing challenges in a crumbling world, where they must grapple with conflicting responsibilities towards duty and family.

NetEase executive VP Zhipeng Hu announced in a press release that they’re introducing gamers to an era of intense action with Blood Message. Being our initial single-player exclusive game from NetEase Games, after two decades of unwavering commitment to the gaming sector, we are eager to provide a genuinely grand and cinematic experience for players globally.

The game titled “Blood Message” does not currently have a specified launch date; however, it will eventually be accessible on both PC and gaming consoles. This is just one of several upcoming games that draw inspiration from Chinese history and folklore, with others like “Project: The Perceiver”, “Where Winds Meet”, “Wuchang: Fallen Feathers”, and “Phantom Blade Zero” also in the pipeline.
