Judge livid as man wears “World’s Best Farter” shirt in Texas court

In an extraordinary scene at the court, a man’s choice of wearing a “World’s Top Flatulist” t-shirt did not meet the Judge’s standard of good taste and decorum.

In a courtroom setting, it’s usually advisable to wear formal attire, and a man discovered this lesson the difficult way: casual or graphic t-shirts might not be the most suitable choice.

On June 9th, defendant Sammy Morris was present before Honorable Raquel West, in a court session that was broadcast online, on the YouTube channel of the 252nd District Court.

In the footage, Judge West called Morris forward and had some choice words for the man’s attire.

After Morris made his way in front of Judge West, she began to question his clothing.

Good morning, sir. I noticed the shirt you’re wearing today. Did something specific lead you to choose it for court this morning? Or was it a matter of not having any other options available? By the way, I see the shirt has “World’s Best Farter” printed on it – that’s quite a unique statement!

As I examined the shirt, I couldn’t help but notice the word “Farter” crossed out and replaced with “Father.” However, the judge seemed unfazed by this amusing mix-up, choosing to focus on more serious matters instead.

In the felony court, it’s crucial to dress according to the court’s standards. Unfortunately, your attire doesn’t meet those requirements.

As a passionate observer, I found Judge West expressing disapproval towards the defendant’s absence of legal representation. His sentiments were evident as he questioned the validity of the man’s explanation regarding his failed attempts to contact three lawyers prior to appearing in court.

She stated, “Either you should find a person to be employed, or it’s necessary for you to consult with three legal professionals.” If the process demands speaking with twenty individuals to achieve this goal, go ahead and speak with twenty. Aren’t these just straightforward, practical steps, don’t you think?

She also cautioned him, emphasizing the need for him to straighten up his affairs. If he fails to do so, there’s a strong possibility that his bond could be canceled, leading to a potential stint in prison.

2025 saw another bizarre court incident grabbing attention, similar to one that happened this year. Earlier, an individual’s effort to employ an AI character in the New York State Supreme Court didn’t go as planned when a judge shouted from the bench to turn off the system.
