Jeremy Allen White’s Bruce Springsteen biographical film aspires to be this year’s equivalent to “A Complete Unknown.” Titled “Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere“, the movie focuses on the production of Springsteen’s album, “Nebraska“, which precedes his renowned work, “Born in the U.S.A.“. The film is inspired by Warren Zane’s 2023 biography of Springsteen titled “Deliver Me From Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska“. The June 18th trailer commences by featuring White interpreting “The River.” Jeremy Strong delivers a monologue as Jon Landau, Bruce Springsteen’s manager, discussing Springsteen’s creative process for the album Nebraska. In Strong’s portrayal of Landau, he says, “When Bruce was young, his bedroom floor wasn’t solid; he couldn’t stand on it. That’s not what Bruce had.” The trailer subsequently transitions into a live performance scene, showcasing White as Springsteen singing “Born to Run,” one of the initial glimpses of White depicting Springsteen on stage.

Who’s in the cast?

In this production, Stephen Graham portrays Dutch Springsteen, the father of Bruce Springsteen, while Gaby Hoffmann takes on the role of his mother, Adele. Marc Maron acts as Chuck Plotkin, the producer, and Paul Walter Hauser plays Mike Batlan, the guitar technician. Lastly, David Krumholtz assumes the character of music executive Al Teller.
