8BitDo and Virtue have collaborated on a brand new smartphone controller, tailored exclusively for use with the Virtue Pro XR glasses. By inserting your Android device into the Virtue x 8BitDo Ultimate Mobile Gaming Controller, you can transform it into a handheld gaming device similar to the Steam Deck or Switch 2. Unlike other Ultimate Mobile Controllers and their counterparts that rely on Bluetooth connectivity with your phone, this one utilizes USB-C 3.0 for seamless integration. It also boasts an extra USB port, enabling you to link the Virtue XR and Pro XR glasses for smooth, lag-free gameplay. The controller retails at $79 and is currently available on Amazon.
Virtue’s glasses, the Viture Pro XR, are compatible with Android devices at the moment, but an iOS version is coming soon. Additionally, you can get a combo package that includes these glasses and the 8BitDo Ultimate Mobile Gaming Controller for $468.
8BitDo’s Ultimate Mobile Controller is also accessible via Bluetooth, although it doesn’t have the low-latency input or video transmission that the latest model provides through USB 3.0. However, it shares the same features and design with its counterpart. Please note that this controller is compatible only with Android devices. You can purchase either the black or white version for $50 on Amazon.
