NBA superstars want to become streamers as they ‘make more money’

NBA stars Devin Booker and Giannis Antetokounmpo are considering a switch to streaming platforms, as they perceive content creators earn more income compared to their current earnings, despite earning around $50 million annually each.

Over time, a significant number of famous personalities from the entertainment and sports industries have ventured into the realm of streaming. Some of them demonstrate exceptional gaming skills, excelling in popular games such as Call of Duty, Fortnite, and Valorant.

Even if they’re proficient with a controller, it doesn’t necessarily mean their live streams are engaging. Sometimes, they fail to captivate viewers as successfully as well-known streamers do, despite having substantial fanbases.

Many well-known NBA players have delved into the world of streaming. For instance, Kyrie Irving frequently hosts live broadcasts, Ben Simmons has collaborated with Call of Duty (CoD) team members from OpTic and FaZe, and at one time Devin Booker even had a character skin in Warzone.

Booker, currently a player with the Phoenix Suns, and expected to secure a two-year deal valued at $150 million in July, might consider shifting towards streaming services.

His argument, as expressed during his conversation with FaZe Adapt on June 15, was that they earn more than basketball players.

He emphatically stated to Adapt, “Absolutely not, there’s far more profit in this venture, friend. I ought to be following your path.” To which the FaZe Clan member responded swiftly, “You really think so? No, no, I’m not convinced.
